I was encouraged by other reviews to visit here, and I was a little disappointed overall. Some of our small plates were good, the crab and the crudo, but the lobster tartine (small and $18) was on a soggy bland piece of what resembled a wanton, which took away from the actual lobster topping. Strangely the best part of the meal was the chocolate dessert with the green tomato. Great flavors!!

We went to Brine twice during our long weekend stay on Plum Island. It was our favorite restaurant in Newburyport. The staff was friendly, informed and attentive. The food was creative and tasty. Brine has a wide selection of seafood and non seafood offerings so there is something for everyone. We had the salmon crudo, oysters, tune crudo, steak and fish as our courses. All of them lovely. Would highly recommend. Be sure to book in advance as it's a small location and fills up fast.

We wanted to try this place for some time, so we decided to give it a go for a birthday celebration. We went all out with oysters, salmon crudo and salmon mouse to start (very happy with all three), we ordered the special "corn pudding with oysters and caviar" but while the corn pudding and caviar were nice the intense flavor of three oysters set on top of the pudding overpowered the dish and was not to our liking. As it was a birthday event, we opted for the caviar tasting that was served with the house recommended sparking rose and for the entree' we ordered the "Salmon* • Pea • Lions Mane Mushrooms • Bowfin Caviar • Buttermilk" and the "Tuna* • Apricot • Fregola • Cucumber • Bok Choy • Mustard Greens" and thoroughly enjoyed them both.

The service was excellent and our waitress worked carefully to ensure the timely serving of every item as ordered and was very helpful with getting our drinks to meet our specific tastes. Our waitress was professional, helpful and friendly and added to the positive experience of the evening. Will definitely dine here again to explore their crudo and small plate choices.

My hubby and I decided to take a day trip up to Newburyport and poke around. We stumbled upon Brine and decided to stop in for lunch...what a perfect little spot!! The food was delicious! Fresh, trendy and a perfect match to the location and weather! We had a few apps, a crudo and main. The arugula salad with grapefruit was perfectly seasoned. The shrimp BLT was amazing...perfect flavor combinations.

A small cozy restaurant with spot on recommendations from Karin who also provided excellent service.

We made a meal with some tasty bread, fresh oysters on the half shell, Hackleback Caviar and shared Crudo of Tuna, Salmon and Halibut. To finish the meal the Poached Pears were divine.

Each dish was beautifully presented and a feast for the eyes.

You might want to have a reservation.
