We went to The Chanticleer last night for Restaurant Week. The food was excellent! We both ordered ahi tuna, diver scallops with chorizo and sweet potatoes, with crime brûlée with sugar cookies for dessert. The atmosphere in the main dining room was very romantic - quiet, low lighting, tables far enough away from each other so we could talk. The waiter, Santiago, was very professional and paid attention to detail - knowing exactly when to step in and offer service. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants, but last night was exceptional.

Great restaurant near rental home. Sort of spur of the moment for six of to go here instead of downtown. Didn't realize they were participating Nantucket Restaurant Week until we arrived. What a nice surprise and deal! Terrific choices in appetizers, entrées and desserts.Delicious tomato soup w/fennel and ginger, bluefish pate, shredded, poached and cooled Brussel sprouts w/purple kale, sesame seeds, pistachios, Asian pear and a bit of wasabi for starters. Then on to halibut meuniere on pommes puree and veggies, and lamb rack (4 large ribs) with potato yummy. Finally on to desserts with strawberry gelato "mess," choco mousse, and crème brulee. Oh, so good. All of us said one of the best meals ever. Go!

I have dinned there before, at the elegant part of the restaurant.
This time we sat at the área were the bar is located, so it´s a more informal space, but very charming!
the food and the service were very good, and the wines they recommended also
were a great paring to the food.

This old timer has been serving up terrific meals for many, many decades. The food, especially the locally caught fish and island grown vegetables is traditional and delicious. Eating under the pergolas is magical - an age old tradition of flowers, friendly service, reliably fresh and tasty foods - isn't that what summer on the island is all about?
