Right in the center of Waltham, MA is this great Cuban food restaurant . They moved to this location about 2 years ago. What a great turn of events.
The food, ftrom small sharing plates, to full dinners is exceptional. Full of flavor and very inviting. It's visiting the island without the cost of airfare.
Since early 2017 they also have a liquor license.
But drink or not this is food worth the visit. Make a reservation on weekend as it sells out fast

Service was excellent and attentive. She knew the menu in and out. The food arrived punctually and as foretold by our server. The place was packed and noisy, but well worth it. Enjoy!

This was my second visit to Gustazo, and I was so happy that we returned. The food is absolutely delicious!!! I ordered tapas as my dinner and my friend ordered the ropa vieja plate. Everything we tasted was flavorful and well prepared. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into each dish, since everything is right on point flavor wise and even the presentation. I was also very happy with the speed that each item came out, and that they brought more than one tapas plate at a time, so that you could eat certain things together. Often times, tapas restaurants will bring out one dish at a time, which makes it feel awkward to each item individually. Their drinks menu is a little limited, only wine (and beer, I believe), but not that big of an issue. If you are looking for some authentic tasting Latin food, I HIGHLY recommend coming here, I can't even imagine that you could be disappointed. Oh, and DEFINETLY make a reservation ahead of time!

I have been to this restaurant several times in the last couple of years. The last time was for Friday lunch and the Saturday dinner this week.

Firstly, this place is quite unique in its taste and menu. It is quite obvious the chef(s) are the secret. I hope they are part owners or owners or are family as this is what keeps everyone coming and raving about this place, no doubt.

That is of course not to play down the ambience which is quite nice for a small place which is extremely busy in the evenings and cannot be visited without a reservation on Fri-Sun evenings.

The cortada, the spanish latte both were good. The appetiser we ordered - Guac and Chips were refreshingly different - plantain/banana and guac had a nice tinge of pineapple. Freshly prepared of course.

The mains were stupendous. The chicken risotto and a salad (pick any, trust me, I have tried almost every one there) were exquisite. Each of the desserts was tasteful - the boniato one, the leche cakes, the crepe, all equally good. The cortada and the spanish latte (just felt like a good latte, not sure what the Spanish was for) were good. The bill was about $115/3 making it a little expensive, but then we really went overboard. Lunches have been reasonable, around $50/$60 for four etc. It is becoming a favourite of mine and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

There are a large number of vegetarian options too.

A slight dampener was the way the boniato dessert was presented and the long wait (please book before turning up for dinners) and the chicken risotto looked a slight bit less well prepared, but that is only being really picky and to show balance to my review. Nothing would stop me from going to this place again and all my co-diners to any of my visits there agree. Note to self - must stop spreading the word and keep this secret to myself! :-)

The best small plates Cuban food, excellent presentation. The taste of every dish is superior. I voted for the Chicharrones and the Madurai's con Tocino as the best. Very nice small place, comfortable seating and great service. Excellent choice of wines to compliment the food. Always full of happy people and great atmosphere.
