spent a night there this past weekend with the family and we were very pleased. It's definitely more like staying over at your (friendly) grandmother's house than it is staying at a typical b&b. Margaret and Stan are very nice folks who have opened their home to visitors. If you like antiques, this may be the place for you since they are stacked to the rafters!

This place was recomended by the gentleman putting on a metalurgy work shop I was attending. He did not steer me wrong! Stan and Margrett the couple who own it were great! Margrett makes you the best homeade breakfast in the morning!! Clean and very affordable rooms, great food with in walking distance. Or you can just hang out and watch tv with Stan and Margrett wich I highly recommend. I am going back again for more time at the workshops and would not think of staying anywhere else while in town!

Regular visitor over many years. Just like visiting Grandma's house. Friendly owners Margaret and Stan seek always to look to your needs. Not all rooms en - suite but there are sufficient bathrooms on both floors. Not a Hotel. Not a Bed and Breakfast. More like a stay with friends.

My husband and I called weeks ahead and made a reservation to stay for one night while attending a wedding in the area. We mailed in a deposit check and were excited for a romantic getaway during Labor Day weekend.

After a day on the road, we arrived at the B&B and there were no signs of life at the house- doors locked, lights off, no cars in the driveway. We called and heard the phone ringing inside and left a message. We decided we must be too early for check-in, so we went to grab something to eat and came back an hour later- still no signs of life. At this point, it was critical that we check in and take showers and change for the wedding. We called multiple times and even knocked on neighbors doors to ask if they had the innkeeper's cell phone number, but the neighbors were unable to put us in touch. We ended up driving 20 minutes to roadside motel, where we got ready and then rushed to the wedding at the last minute, nearly missing the ceremony. We stayed at the motel that night, which was a lifesaver, but not what we had planned for our romantic weekend.

We called the B&B an additional time that evening and then stopped by on our way out of town the next morning, but still, nobody home. My husband finally received a call a few days later and the only explanation we got was that they were sorry this happened to us and would refund the money. I have a feeling our booking was misplaced and the innkeepers went away to enjoy their Labor Day weekend.

The house looked nice from the outside, but I would never attempt to stay there again!

We are regular patrons of the 1880 ever since our son started attending school in the area. This large old home has plenty of space for us. We typically reserve the front, first floor bedroom which accomodates me and my husband and our younger son on a separate cot. The room has its own bath. The owners are wonderful people who make you feel like you are family visiting grandma and grandpa's house. Their breakfasts are good and filling. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there's a great collection of antique hats all over the house that kids love to play with. For a good night's sleep close to some beautiful areas of western massachusetts at a very good value, we recommend it.
