I have to confess I was not looking forward to our 3 nights here… was not sure what to expect, (it won the kid-vote due to the water park) But we had a great time and overall would recommend it.
PROS
The water park and inflatable park are 2 separate parks - combined ticket is $50pp and $25 for toddlers… we went 4 days - probably for ~3 hours a time, the passes made it easy to “pop in” versus go for the whole day. Plenty to keep everyone happy from 2yo to adults. You need a new pass every day, and they do give towels.
Tip…. The first 3 days we went at 2/3pm… it was lovely and quiet. On the last days we went 10am- 12pm before travelling and it was much less pleasant. Loads of kid camps groups, much busier - so consider doing something else in the morning and using the park later on.
The “family rooms” with 3 doubles are about 5 min walk (10 mins with a toddler) along the main road at a different location, at first I thought this would be a pain, but the main site and standard rooms were much more chaotic so we were pleased to be a little quieter
Rooms are newly refurbished (or ours was) and bedroom was spacious with 3 doubles** but bathroom is tiny.
Staff were all friendly and helpful, especially the girl on breakfast duty.
A few (not loads) of places to grab food nearby, Mexican 3 min walk away was good - and we did take out pizza from Mike’s opposite one night. Hotel have picnic tables (admittedly around the car park!) but it was fine for quick food.
SUGGESTIONS/ WATCHOUTS
1. check in was a bit long winded and would be good if they gave you everything at once eg towels, passes, key… told you about daily passes, WiFi etc - instead of having to call/ queue again.
2. Drinks were pricey, but probably on par with similar places - you could not take food/drink in or out
3. No guest laundry… which would be helpful after 2 weeks on the road… or just to wash swim stuff.
**4. But the main gripe was the lack of places to put things/ hang things in the room. Newly refurbished this is a compete miss. 5 wet towels each day + 5 sets of wet swim wear… and 1 tiny hanging rail with 4 hangers?!?
1 small set of drawers, filled by the TV… and no luggage racks, or even hooks for towels. Sounds small but it would have made the stay much easier with 5 of us in one room.
