Keep Driving - Not what you expect from the website. The office had an appalling smell that their air fresheners couldn’t mask. The rooms were dark and small with nothing more than old beds. No amenities at all. You needed a shoulder to open the door to our room. However the sliding glass door to the parking lot did not have any security feature. We came up with our own. On the balcony was a large pail with hundreds of cigarette butts.
We moved it BIT our neighbors had the same and used it all night. The smell of cigarettes wafted into our room all night along with the sound of their TV that was on all night.

Sorry we will not return and would have left if there was room at another hotel nearby. Trust me we tried.

This was our first stay at the Tidewater, and we were pleasantly surprised! We were worried it might be really noisy, due to the location right on busy Rte. 28. But our room was located in the back building, and the traffic noise was minimal. The room was nothing fancy, but the beds were comfortable and the small balcony was a nice place to enjoy the air once the evening cooled down. The back of the property is right on a small tidal marsh (some rooms have views over it, but ours was on the opposite side.) My son enjoyed exploring at low tide, and we saw some beautiful birds. We took advantage of the on-site breakfast place twice, and the food was good. Service was slow, and the server seemed a bit overwhelmed- but everyone was friendly. The outdoor pool was great for the really hot, humid weather we had, and there were lots of friendly families at the facility.

The check-in staff were all very pleasant, and all the housekeepers we ran into in the halls were super friendly.

The only draw-back for us was the lack of microwaves in the rooms, but they do have one located near the indoor pool so we used that a few times.

Room Tip: The back building is much quieter, and some rooms have views over the tidal marsh.

We stayed here mid week in July. Stayed in a king room with balcony facing the water. Overall it was a decent room, clean and comfortable. It was a little pricey for what you get though. There are many hotels in the area that are more reasonably priced. It was on a very busy road making it dangerous to pull out of parking lot. It has a restaurant/diner inside the hotel that serves breakfast. Reviews were positive but we didn’t eat there. No complaints, would stay here again.

Very quiet hotel with a nice staff. After reading the hotel reviews was worried about this hotel, however upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised. Great location, well maintained property. Very quiet place to stay and wonderful rooms, comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again! Loved the restaurant on the hotel property very convenient. Delicious breakfast!

Room Tip: View of the water in the back

While the place looks a little run down compared to some other places in the area we thought it was good value for money. The AC worked fine and the rooms were tidy. There are 2 pools (indoors and out) and a diner which served good food although a little slowly due to number of staff. For the price and location I would say that it is to be recommended as it is 5-10 minutes away from Hyannis where there are plenty of things to do and food outlets. A little tip is look for look for North street which runs parallel to Main street as there is a large car park there which is free.
