It's really best to make advance dinner reservations for Phoenicia in Birmingham on weekends. As we entered about 6pm, we overheard the hostess explaining nothing was available until after 9pm. My husband and I enjoyed an appetizer combo of tabbouleh, hummus and baba ganoush, served with lettuce leaves that was very good. We followed this with delicious creamed cucumbers and lentil soup. The house special was baby lamb, simmered all day, so we tried this and we were both quite pleased. Phoenicia is assuredly a restaurant to try. We will be back.
