In comparison to other campings around Castillane area which offer more modern buildings and even swimming pools, Camping Carajuan is a simple one, the toilet and shower areas are old but are clean, which is a very important factor. There is a washing machine, a place to wash the dishes, a BBQ and a volleyball area. It has reasonable prices and in comparison to the other ones, i think is one of the cheapest, or at least among those that we asked for. We were in 4 people with a tent and 2 motorbikes and we spent 25 € all for one night without electricity. We definitely recommend this place for those people who want to be in touch with the nature, completely out of the modern habits, careless of the outside world!

As the main campsites were full due to the peak of the season we travelled further down the Gorge to Camping Municipal which had spaces available.

The staff were friendly and helpful, however, it is basic. We were planning to stay in the Gorges du Verdon for a couple of days to break the journey and try out some water sports. Unlike the places further up stream it had no swimming pool, the toilets were not great and you were lucky to find a lock on the door, The showers weren't great either. They are cleaned but need a good refurb and are showing their age.

The pitches are large enough and electricity is available on selected pitches. The site is not particularly well maintained and I wouldn't describe it as picturesque.

We only stayed the one night as we decided to travel on and find somewhere nicer.
