It's not the biggest or the baddest KOA but it's suits it's community. Koa holiday offers this location just south of Traverse City yet north of Cadillac. It's a smaller campground. It's a No frills park. Small playground for kids. Various campsites from cabins to rv hookups to primitive camping. Good pricing. I would love to see them park a splash pad and gain more families. Very nice staff and did I say good pricing?!?!

Thank you for your review. We do encourage our guests to review our business. We are very family friendly with two Jumping Pillows, Train Rides, Heated Pool, Mini-golf, Remote control car track, rental bikes and many other fun things for the kids to do. It seems you did not stay with us.

First time to the cherry festival with my family / extended family. This is the best KOA I have ever been to. Lots for the kids to do (including RC cars and a train ride), super clean resort and the staff was amazingly hospitable!

We had a wonderful start to our Traverse City/Lake Ann vacation with 3 nights and four days at this KOA.

Deluxe Cabin 46: We really enjoyed our stay here in this cute, centrally located cabin. It had everything we could need. Kitchen including pans, utensils, etc. Full sized fridge, stove top, microwave, etc. The bathroom was on the smaller side, but the shower was roomy, and I loved that we had our own private bathroom and didn't have to walk to the camp bathrooms. The bedroom had a queen bed, there are bunk beds and the connecting hallway, and a sofa sleeper in the living room area. I loved the outdoor area with firepit, patio, table and chairs. The porch swing was also a big hit. This cabin is located directly across from the playground area which was nice when the kids wanted to go explore and swing, but we were never bothered by any excessive noise. As others have said, Wi-Fi was spotty at times, but not too bad.

KOA grounds: As far as I could tell while we were there, everything was clean and maintained. They have trees surrounding the campground, flowers near the pool, and a cute shade garden.

Customer service/check-in: Everything went smoothly and the staff were polite, if not overly friendly, every time we went into the store. We didn't have sticks to roast marshmallows with, and were happy they were sold in the store and at a reasonable price. So, having that little store there definitely came in handy.

Activities: Lots to do. A fun train ride, swimming pool, mini golf, race car track, playground. We did it all. Definitely fun for the kids, or in my case, the teens who still act like kids.

Overall it was a great place and we had a wonderful stay. I felt like the price was a bit high. We've stayed at other KOA's, including a really nice one along the northern California coastline, and paid about $35 less per night. But, having said that, this one did include all linens where the other one didn't so that alone was worth the price difference. I'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice camping experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed at KOA Traverse City for 4 nights in August. Although it was 30-50 minute drive to many of the common attractions on the area, we are looking forward to our visit back. We tent camped, and the area we stayed was very quiet and woodsy. Although there is 1 bathroom it wasn't far from any site. The bathrooms were always clean, neat and dry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Camping can be stressful but KOA Traverse City made it very easy, and we both had a relaxing trip. We cannot wait to go back!!

We attend the Buckley old engine show every year. We opt to camp at the Traverse City KOA due to its close proximity to the engine show. All the amenities you could ever want, pool, laundry room, clean facilities, and tons of fun things for the kids to do. Whether you are in a tent or in a huge motorhome they will bend over backwards to accommodate your requests. Highly recommend this family-oriented Campground.
