This B and B is located on a point at the tip of an island, and from it you have a truly spectacular view. You can sit on the deck and quietly spend time with deer (quite tame from being fed), water fowl, chipmunks and squirrels. You will see all sorts of boats pass by, and even a freighter in the distance. It would be easy to put your kayak, canoe or paddleboard in the water here. If you put your boat in the water at a boat launch, you can use their dock. This is a boating-oriented area, and help is at hand if you need it.

Jim and Betty's house is small, but the rooms are lovely and one of them has a water view. The private bathroom we had was tiny, but beautifully done and spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, with high quality bed linens and an elegant quilt. Other have mentioned the wonderful breakfasts, and they are amazing, it is true. Betty bakes an extraordinary bread (actually, many variations), and if you are a lover of bread, you will likely feel that these breads, alone, were worth the trip.

The most impressive thing about this B and B, lovely as it is in terms of location, rooms and food, are the people. Betty and Jim are extremely open, interesting people. The conversations we had were remarkable, and I would urge you to get to know your hosts if you are lucky enough to get to stay with them.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms. The one with the water view would be preferable.

Wow! We thought we were just stopping for a convenient visit on our UP tour. But, were we surprised to see such beauty!! Jim and Betty were such great hosts. Comfort room and terrific breakfast. We actually sat with eight deer as we drank our coffee on their patio! If you have a chance, ask them about "Narnia"!! Thanks soooo much! This far exceeded our expectations!!

Thanks you Betty and Jim for welcoming us into your home. Great location, interesting conversations and the rooms couldn't have been nicer. We were able to keep the boat on their dock next to their charming boat house which was lined with flowers. The night sky was also outstanding from their dock.
Jim also gave us advice on hikes and where to boat in the area. We sure did have a great time because of their advice.

We stayed 4 days and 5 nights in June, in the lakeview room. Our hosts Jim and Betty couldn't have been nicer or more helpful about what to see and do while we were on vacation! The breakfasts were fabulous and plentiful and our room was cozy, comfortable, clean and well-appointed. Jim has turned the B&B into a real showplace with his carpentry skills, and Betty is a first-rate hostess and cook! Their dog Emma does her part, too - she makes you feel right at home (especially if you are missing your pets while on vacation!). We plan to visit again soon - hopefully later this year, for the fall colors! Thank you, Betty and Jim, for a wonderful time.

When you see the view or have Betty or Jim's amazing breakfast. It is incredible and real! This is a spot where great books could be written or paintings painted. Summer was beautiful, but I would think it's even more gorgeous on Fall days with the colors of the trees, bright blue skies and the Sun shining on Dancing Waters.
The Les Cheneaux Islands area is so beautiful. Once you've been there, you'll want to go back. Cedarville and Hessell are little towns that remind me of New England. The boat houses on the Islands remind me of the Finger Lakes in New York.
This area is an often overlooked gem.
Your hosts are warm, welcoming and very interesting people. They felt like long time friends quickly.
We stayed in the Lake View room. Imagine opening your eyes in the morning to the beautiful Les Cheneaux Islands! Deer amble between your window and the water.
Our room was beautifully appointed and Jim's beautiful carpentry is evident throughout the room and bathroom.
The living room is comfortable with great views.
Emma, the resident 12 year old Bassett is a dear. We are cat people, but Emma is very well behaved and could easily be the heroine of a children's book. We enjoyed her personality immediately.
We went with a 1947 Chris Craft U22 for the Hessell Boat Show. Jim had added dock space for the other guest and several other boats which worked out superbly. We
put the boat in in Cedarville. My husband drove the boat to Dancing Waters while I drove the trailer over. Jim graciously back it into a spot where it remained for the next 3 1/2 days. This is a great base for boating in the Islands. You can go one bay East and possibly catch a freighter loading ! It isn't a long run to Cedarville. It took between 35-40 minutes for the run to Hessell. There are multiple marinas that have gas.
Jim and Betty are building their dream next door. Jim has his own saw mill. We were privileged to tour the new building. The view and workmanship are both amazing.
I'm not a fan of Bed and Breakfasts. We've had a couple of unfavorable experiences, but Dancing Waters felt like home. I hated to leave. We're hoping to be there for next year's Show.
