Owner description: This old Detroit home belies the greatness that was born here: the Motown Sound. But one step inside Hitsville, USA, the original house where Berry Gordy lived and recorded the Motown hits, and you'll catch the beat and spirit of this booming music era. Photos, costumes, artwork, music and other memorabilia take you back to simpler times.

“A must for Motown fans!”

The guides are very knowledgeable and have really cool stories about Motown greats. A must do! Parking is hard to find, pay the funeral home next door.

“Surprisingly hip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2012

We had a couple of hours to spare and my husband dragged me over. I am a baby boomer and was amazed at the stuff Barry Gordy and company could do before ipods, synthesizers, etc... It was a trip back in history and to a simpler time. I learned a lot about the motown legends and little about myself, too.

“A slice of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2012

This is a small museum, and your visit will depend on the tour guide. But, regardless of the guide, standing in the studio where all of those great songs were recorded is not to be missed!
