I was recommended this hotel by a colleague and have not been disappointed at all, the location in a mainly tourist area is ideal for the exploration of an area I was not aware of for mountains, vineyards, trekking, Nordic skiing and local historic interest.

The hotel is nestled in a quiet suburban setting that could be anywhere in Europe, it has a comfortable feel, the trees and buildings give it a comfy charm.

The rooms are really nice, good comfortable beds and a restaurant with a good varied menu and obviously a great chef. The staff are really helpful and charming, they will engage with you and chat if you wish, there is no rush and they all seem genuinely engaged with their tasks. Prices are good especially the menu and again no rush with getting you in and out of the restaurant, they give you time and space and are very attentive. Top marks all round here.

Just one personal note, I popped into a local bar just down the road on the main highway, ordered a beer and again the people were friendly and tried to interpret my wishes, they engaged with nods and smiles. I was not allowed to pay for my beer (local brew) Demon by name as one of the hound ladies there was having her birthday - never happened before and I love the sound of their speech with the soft sounds and distinct flowing melody, pity I'm working.

Room Tip: Any room would be quiet, the road is only for locals as it is not a through route but just for residences, I guess if you like a sunrise opt for the rear of the hotel.

Re-built in 2007, this 3-star hotel was a real positive surprise for us: very cosy, has a small but nice wellness/spa section with indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam-room, its restaurant is brilliant & the staff helped us whatever. Will surely return. Location is excellent for mountain trips, biking & hiking.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden facing room rather a street/entrance facing one.
