We sat at the Open kitchen area around 9pm. The lady sous chefs were very professional and even asked us how we liked our dessert. Our male server was pretty busy, taking larger groups but did a good job with our small order. We just wanted a lounge menu but there was a GFS private party using the lounge area. So we selected a snack from the dinner menu and a Rhubarb dessert . We had Truffle Fries that came with a ketchup and house aioli. Amazing. We had just eaten at 3 other locations in Grand Rapids the same day but had to try them. Dessert was great too.

We had the breakfast buffet, we didn't feel like walking far after walking around Grand Rapids all day the day before. It's pricey, good, but pricey. The chef did a great job on our made to order omelettes, but other than that there isn't anything on this breakfast buffet worth the $25.

Great place to sit outside and take in the sunshine. Menu has changed some since prior visits which was a much needed improvement for them. Apps are good and cocktail menu is fine. They have increased their options in that department as well. It’s a business hotel and a lot of people come and go. I believe people keep coming back for the overall experience of the hotel. 616 in summer and outside is just a bonus.

I visited with family and friends on a visit to GR. We stayed at the Courtyard and thought we'd treat ourselves to a nice meal. The decor was very nice and we had a wonderful meal. I had the fabulous salmon, two had the New York strip and one had the trout--all of us were extremely happy with our choices. The server was friendly and helpful as well and the chef and others came by to ask about our meal. There's also a nice looking outdoor space. It was a bit windy the day we went but it would be worth trying!

6-1-6 is a conundrum. Food is out of this world. prepared perfectly, presented beautifully,, and wait staff was great too. All the Marriott needs to do to make this a Grand Rapids preferred spot for dining is to separate or block off the lounge from the restaurant. Loud drunks in the lounge almost made us get up and leave. Someone managed to push them to the outside seating area, transforming 6-1-6 into a fairly nice place to eat, although it’s not on my “must go again” list because of their set up. I would guess to say, avoid the weekends and stick to weeknight dining at 6-1-6 and you’ll have a superb French meal that won’t disappoint.
