Description: About the Curragh In the small villages that dot Ireland, the pub culture plays an important role in social life: it is the social hub of the community. Half of the magic of Ireland lies in the people, for whom great conversation and good humor are at the very heart of a wonderful culture. For instance, in a town with a population of 1,000, there are often as many as 50 pubs. Village folks don’t sit in front of the television after supper, they meet at the local pub and don’t go home until everyone at the table has politely bought a round. We hope you will join us for some true Irish hospitality. Come inside, enjoy the warm, inviting atmosphere with friends and family. Or, during the warmer months, a table on our patio provides Holland’s favorite outdoor dining experience.

I went to Curragh last Saturday with some girlfriends. When we got there, we were told that there was a short wait, but then the hostess came out to say that they could seat us if we were willing to sit on the stage, a small platform just inside the entrance. We were game and joked about how, if they gave us microphones, we would perform for them. After we were seated and had our waters, our waitress came to tell us that there had been a mistake - that they had forgotten that there was going to be live music that evening. They moved us to another table and offered to buy us all a round of drinks to compensate us for our trouble. Since none of us were in the mood for drinks, they offered either two appetizers or two desserts instead. We chose the appetizers and ordered the mozzarella sticks and the spinach artichoke dip. The mozzarella sticks were MASSIVE, obviously not the kind that you take out of the freezer and heat up. So yummy! And the spinach artichoke dip was delicious too. It came with tortilla chips and triangles of bread. One of my friends and I both ordered the shepherd's pie which came with fresh vegetables. It was really tasty. My two other friends ordered burgers and fries, and they enjoyed those as well. The atmosphere is loud, so not great for quiet conversations but perfect for our group of loud friends. The wait staff was friendly and the service was good. Curragh is located in downtown Holland, so it's a great place to go for lunch or dinner and then enjoy a walk downtown.

Very good restaurant with a nicely varied menu. Prices are maybe moderate. One of us had the Fish Tacos for $13.99 "Lightly fried Guinness-battered cod topped with fresh coleslaw, salsa, and lemon cumin cream sauce. Served on flour tortillas with steak fries" and the other had the Shepherd's Pie for $14.99 "Ground beef, carrots, peas, and onions in a rich gravy topped with mashed potatoes and baked golden brown. Served with seasonal vegetables and locally-made soda bread." Each meal was very good with generous servings. We got beer, $2.50 each and hot tea for $2.00. It was lovely weather when we were there, so we ate outside on their patio. Enjoyable atmosphere outside and our service was good. Can't address the inside of this restaurant as we never entered.

My family and I went to the Curragh Irish Pub for dinner last night to celebrate a relative's 50th birthday. It was a fun place with Irish music playing, a cozy fireplace to enjoy during our dinner and a lively pub on the other end. We chose this setting to reveal a surprise trip to Ireland for the birthday boy! The servers were great and even brought him out a complimentary dessert with a handwritten birthday greeting! The menu was fantastic! I recommend the Galway Bay Seafood Fleadh, Cottage Pie, and Guiness Cheese Soup (this is more like a stew but still very good!). The cranberry/raisin bread pudding is great for dessert! We will definitely return to the Curragh and can't wait for our trip to Ireland after the small taste of Irish hospitality we received here! :)

Love this Irish Restaurant. They have nice outdoor patio dining and they are right on the Main Street shopping area. The Bangers and Mash is one of their signature dishes and is very good. Have not had a bad meal here. The servers are very attentive. This is a great stop if you are in Hollsnd
