We stayed here to golf Timberstone. Older facility but very clean. We stayed in a condo. Well stocked with utensils. Restaurant/bar is very nice and food is good. Employees were extremely friendly and courteous. Great motorcycle destination.

The hotel is conveniently located next to one of our favorite golf courses in Michigan (Timberstone). We stay at this hotel at least twice a year because their location and restaurant/bar are excellent. The area surrounding the hotel is beautiful. Love their restaurant because their food and service are excellent. Their great cooks and friendly staff makes the dinning experience truly enjoyable. Unfortunately, I cannot give this hotel an excellent rating because the décor/furniture in common areas and rooms are dated. For us, this is not a deal breaker and we can't wait to stay at the lodge again in August.

THE GOOD:
1. Floor Plan: Decent layout
2. Gas Log Fireplace (on a timer)
3. Heat works well (at least when it was down to mid 40s at night).
4. No bugs (in June)
5. Beds – ok comfy (not the best or worst)
6. Bedroom: Good storage,
7. Two hairdryers available – one on the wall in the bedroom sink area and one under the counter in the main bathroom.
8. Kitchen storage, equipment/utensils ok – not bad, not plentiful, but enough to get by (and there was a wine opener).
9. The kitchen did come with Paper towels and other helpful supplies (coffee, sugars, salt & pepper).
10. Coat closet: Yes there was one and it was a good storage area
11. Iron (but, no ironing board)
12. Pool area – nice, clean, large, a few tables. This was really nice compared to everything else!
13. All staff were very nice
14. Restaurant on site with a lot to choose from

THE BAD:
1. Curb appeal: dirty, not cleaned up, wiped down or anything. It was June and you would think they could have swept the leaves away.
2. The Couch and lazy boy style chairs are old and tired… needs to be replaced soon
3. Bathroom needs work: old in general, old shower head, rusted Kleenex box on wall, old tub, old toilet, etc.
4. Would have liked to see more hangers and not the old cheep wire ones (Mother-Dearest would have had a fit!)
5. Wall hairdryer – lint filled REALLY needs a cleaning.
6. Bedrooms and living area window treatments: Old vertical blinds that let way too much light coming in – especially in the bedroom. These need to go! (we hung a blanket over the window and it helped a bit).
7. You hear a lot of sounds from surrounding units (not great, but not terrible).
8. Outside: porch with two old and mismatched super cheap PVC chairs – one was even broken – needs replaced.
9. Iron was great, but WHY no ironing board?
10. Next to the toilet: Dirty toilet brush and plunger (an eyesore- Yuck!)
11. Plan to run to the store unless you like cheap, thin, sandpaper-like toilet tissue.
12. MISC: Light bulbs burnt out and never replaced (even after we removed it and layed it on the night stand). Dishwasher not working well – the closure to the soap did not work and we found a disgustingly dirty hot-chocolate stained mug in cabinet.

OTHER (FYI): You Decide…
1. The Foyer& kitchen are tile while the rest is a Flat carpet (reminds me of indoor-outodoor)
2. TVs are the old style with big and deep backs
3. Fireplace (gas log) ignited by a timer switch not word burning
4. Kitchen and bath Corian countertops. Kitchen: electric stove, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, freezer with ice trays
5. Décor: old and tired, But not bad. Very “lodgy”
6. Extra sink in bedroom area (kind of a plus, but different).
7. Bedroom “closets”: 2 open closet no doors, a few old hangers available (all miss-matched).
8. Sliding glass door to porch with two super cheap PVC (old) chairs
9. Plenty of towels, but old, thin, semi-mismatched, small towels.
10. Two A/C wall units (never used then in June – it was too cold, but used the heat 100% of the time).
11. One TINY soap at each sink and at the tub, a tiny shampoo – no lotions or hair conditioner
12. Cheap pillows and blankets – I wanted this in the BAD section, but I know I am spoiled, so it’s here in the general section. But good to know there are NO feather pillows – even upon requests.
13. Dark master bedroom(Maybe the lack of working light bulb played into this, but there was only one lamp and lights over the sink area – no other bedroom lighting)
14. Cute but “tired” lodge décor.

PLEASE let me know if this review has bee helpful and check out the personal pics - they might help too!

Bottom line: 95% chance we won't be back, but would not totally rule it out. You can check out my other reviews, I am rather spoiled when it comes to travel and this was not like they type of place we usually stay at.

Room Tip: Go for the bigger rooms in the Mtn "Haus" the others are REALLY small and old.

My fiancé and I booked a few nights at the lodge and enjoyed snowboarding. All of the staff were wonderful and even other guests were extremely friendly! The rooms are not completely updated, but are still nice and clean. We will return many more times in the future!

Great affordable family ski vacation spot! The hotel has a restaurant, ski bar and swimming pool. The hotel rooms need work. They were relatively clean, but they had the worst beds ever! Even my kids complained about the beds. We had issues with the climate control. Either too hot or too cold no in between. The restaurant was excellent with good service. The ski bar was great. They had live music at night. The ski hill was great for family. We felt safe letting the boys ski alone. The ski staff and lifties were all great! We would ski there again, however I don't think I would stay in the lodge again.
