If you are on a golf tour and want a reasonable place to stay try here. Rooms were clean and tidy staff were very friendly and the pool was clean ( but not heated). One big gripe is the breakfasts which are just appalling and to be in a country that normally does this meal so well it's disappointing. The coffee is rubbish which in this day and age is not good enough the hot trays of cooked breakfast are small meaning they run out too quickly, poky ,pretty tasteless ( has anyone from the management bothered to taste the revolting spicy sausages sweaty fatty bacon or mushrooms?) and if you want toast the machine is so old the bread has to be recooked 3 times. Nice orange juice but disgusting jams and cheap marmalade. The trouble is if your are on a golf trip breakfast needs to be very good. Our room 201 had a shower in the bath which was hopeless and the rooms will need a revamp for the hotel to remain an option.

Room Tip: Don't have a room facing the back it's depressing

We had the most super holiday the staff who were still there from last year greeted us like old friends again the apartment was cleaned every day by super ladies always so cheerful, great breakfast and such a variety cooked and continental kept us going all day, the restaurant staff nothing was too much trouble, Carlos the restaurant manager is lovely as are all his staff, we ate in the hotel three nights and the food was gorgeous again big portions, the pool is great for adults and children although the children have their own pool, no shortage of beds, collect you towel from the pool bar, our apartment overlooked the car park that was not a problem to us we did not hear any traffic at all not even from the reception area which was to the right hand side of our balcony. The apartment has double bedrooms at each end with bathrooms, the bedrooms are separated by a huge lounge, it also has a kitchen area should you wish to stay in and cook, but who does that when there is a restaurant in the hotel and loads nearby although you will need a car to reach them. The beach is within walking distance and has a beach bar which the menfolk took advantage of, Here's to next year can't wait.

Room Tip: because there are four of us it's cheaper to rent an apartment than two separate rooms

Great if you overlook the pool. If you are around the back it's north facing and cold with the added problem of deliveries arriving all day from very early morning. Breakfast is average and stay well away from the restaurant in the evening the cost against the food is laughable. Most people go out. Cab fares are dear. The hotel gets its fee. Order them yourself and go out as a group in a mini bus or something similar. Staff are lovely and pleasant. No kettle in the room had to boil a pan every time for a cup of tea. Just remember to book with a pool view or your veranda will be in the shade.

We had a great stay at the Formosa Park. Our apartment was very spacious and clean. The only downside was that it was situated at the rear of the hotel so we did not get any sun on the balcony but as we were out all day this was not an issue. The breakfasts were good value. You really need to have a hire car here, as we did, because it is a bit remote. The local beach was beautiful and quiet but do not rent a sun bed because they are very expensive, just find a place on the sand and relax. We will certainly return for another wonderful holiday.

Great location for a quiet family holiday in August away from the busy Algarve resorts. If you are looking for a hotel that is only a short walk to the beach, then this hotel is ideal. Be aware of the steep hill.
Evening meal is great value for money.
Spacious rooms with kitchenette.
Room for improvement: the beds / matresses are hard and not very confortable.
Note: as Faro airport is less than 30 mins away there is obviously some noise from the passing aircraft

Room Tip: Choose a pool view appartment
