Panorama Chalets
Reviewed 11 August 2017

The welcoming was great, the staff very friendly and we can choose the chalet, the accommodation is well equipped to do your own cooking, a super barbeque, the view is wonderful and we've had our dinner and breakfast, watching birds or see the sunrise, the setting is tranquil, everything very clean.
We stayed 1 night but we think it would be better to stay 2 days or more and explore the many trails around.

Room Tip: Prefer a chalet 1 till 10, for the view

Poor value for money; the only thing going for it is the location and view. The chalets are decades out of date; no heating or AC available. No cleaning services unless you arrange before arrival and pay extra.
No Wi-Fi available in the chalets and one need to go to reception during office hours (7am to 8PM) to use the internet.
Bathrooms have black mould in tile grout and in desperate need of an make over.

Good campsite near town of Graskop. Amazing views from the swimming pool but a bit chilling in July. Good place to visit God Window and Blyde Canyon from but potholes not worth rushing to. Campsite very friendly and especially enjoyed the avocados from the trees on the site.

This was exactly what I needed, a tranquil setting, amazing view and a comfy bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The chalets would be suitable for people traveling alone, as I was, as it was very safe and secure, but also for families and couples as there are larger chalets, and a stunning pool! I would recommend.

If you are looking for a nice peaceful place to enjoy a vacation this is not it.

Management is so hard up for money that they demand R10 for a junk map before they will give travel directions.

The campsites are filthy, and muddy from the nightly rain. There is no adherence to their own noise policies and they allow large groups of young people to make noise until 2am, without repercussion.

Management take no responsibility for anything that occurs on their property and blame everyone including the gate guard for their own failings.

From the attitude and the state of repair of the buildings here it is pretty obvious that the owners have run out of money, and are not investing in normal maintenance and upkeep let alone managing the place to normal standards.

As we were unable to enjoy the peace and quite expected in such a place we left early. Management of course not only refused to refund our unused site rental, a mere US $32.00, but refused to reply to any correspondence sent to them.

Pretty view but not worth the aggravation of dealing with these people. Stay Away!!

Rooms are outdated the bathroom needs upgrading the baths have stains looks like it has been cleaned in years
A fresh coat of paint will do to liven up the place
The kitchen equipment was old and stained the microwave didn't work
For the price it was very expensive

Room Tip: The best part is the views

Although the view was awesome from the front row chalets, the rooms were quite cramped and had bare minimum essentials. We were asked to wait during checkout for the rooms to b checked for any missing stuff. Never had that experience in any other South African self catering places. However the place was worth a visit due to the view frm the bedroom. N dont forget to bring ur own tea n coffee kit.
