Lovely country roads wind their way up to this beautiful hotel in the mountains with stunning views over the countryside below. The room was roomy and very comfortable with great view. The food was excellent and well up to Logis standards. Great base Ideal for walking holidays - we would visit again without doubt.

Room Tip: If you get upstairs room at front the view will take your breath away.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for one night on a tour of the Alsace wine route. It has a wonderful situation high on a hill with amazing views over the valley. It was a nice change from the busy villages, beautiful though they undoubtedly are. The hotel is very friendly and comfortable and the food was delicious. Breakfast was of a high standard. with freshly squeezed juices and lots of fresh bread and pastries, cheeses, cold meats fruit and yoghurts etc. and it was served on the large terrace so we could enjoy those views! For dinner we had a dish called' La Potence' which was quite an experience. It consisted of tiger prawns and scallops stuck on to a steel ball with spikes which they set fire to, and there is a container underneath with risotto. Several diners had the meat version but i can certainly recommend the fish version. We would be delighted to have the chance to stay there again one day.

There's a reason why my family and I have chosen to stay at this auberge twice now and plan on going back again this fall. Let's start with the owners. Sylvine and Thierry are wonderful and go out of their way to make sure their guests are happy during their stay. The rooms are great, the food is delicious and representative of the region. If you enjoy wine you'll be happy with their selection. It was obvious after our second visit that they put a lot of energy into constant improvements. Add all of this together and throw in the beautiful view of the Vosges mountains and I can't imagine why we'd want to go anywhere else. Please stop in if you're vacationing in the area or just want to visit the restaurant for a bite to eat. They have a lovely terrace overlooking the valley.

First off, let me start with the good stuff: beautiful location, comfortable beds, sumptuous breakfast, good base for hikes. Now, on to the reason for the poor review: the owner of this place was awful, rude and unresponsive. She publicly insulted my family when we took issue with the way we had been treated. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not leave our bags at the hotel until the rooms were ready. Anywhere. We asked where we could hike around while we waited since the car was too full of people and bags for us to reasonably go anywhere else - she offered a terse and dismissive reply even though we saw later that all sorts of resources are provided to (other) guests. She communicated her annoyance with our questions at every turn - this is the kind of person you're afraid to ask for anything because she clearly has no time for you. Awful experience. Also, note that it's a really long drive up the mountain to get there along a narrow, winding road. Not necessarily a problem, but you probably won't want to go up and down when it's dark.

This hotel is situated in a beautiful location, way on top of a hill over Lapoutroie. The road is quite narrow, winding and has a steep incline, therefore driving must be finished by nightfall.
The source of our disappointment was the unusual rudeness of the manager who managed to make us feel incredibly unwelcome. Her smiles were reserved for those who followed her strictly established rules, such as: no check in before 4pm, no leaving any luggage before that time, no help with trails until then. You must also be careful to sesit the Demi- pension offer as it includes no choices on the menu, and on our nights, the main course consisted only of smoked ham and pork pies.
The promised free WiFi was very spotty to non existent.
We shortened our stay from 4 nights to 2.
