Lovely mix of beautiful setting, general air of calm, friendly staff and plenty to do between tennis, pool and swimming whenever waves at La Torche were not great... oh and the restaurant is great (and good value)

For our 50th wedding anniversary we were given a night in a fine hotel, yes our friends were generous. We decided to add on two more days and really enjoy ourselves. Ilona did a brilliant job in arranging the visit. Our gift included a gourmet dinner, she set that for the last night. For the first and second nights, which I paid for, she arranged cheaper menus.

The first night's dinner was outstanding, how on earth could it get better for the following nights - answer, the ingredients cost more, so lobster on the last night, and something more basic on the first. The last night dinner included wine. Erwan, the front of house manager chose two super wines, I am in process of trying to buy some of the Quincy that he introduced us to.

The brilliant chef is Mathieu Menguy, it would be a good idea to check he is still there when you book.

Our room was spacious and well equipped. It overlooked the gardens and pool.

If you want to book, do spend time talking with Ilona to plan your visit. She gave me as good a price as the booking sites, but her personal help made the visit memorable.

Beautiful and relaxing location. Exquisite food and impeccable service from all the staff in the restaurant. Large room with very comfortable bed and fabulous shower. However small details stopped it from being perfect. The cheap and poor quality coat hangers in the wardrobe that fell off when you tried to use them were an example. As well as the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom which steamed up like a sauna and forced us to open the large windows despite the pouring rain. It would also have been useful for the hotel to have contacted us to inform us of the road closure which resulted in an extra 30 minute diversion from Quimper to be able to access the hotel. This added to our journey stress unnecessarily and confused the sat navy into meltdown! Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable hotel in Brittany and great location for exploring the coast and countryside from here.

We thank you for your comments, we are pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay in Brittany, and particularly your stay with us in "Manoir de Kerhuel".

We notice your extractor problem, unfortunately we get a breakdown on one of the extraction system and we cannot fix it as quickly as we expect. We had to wait for a special engine part.

We hope to welcome you during another stay in Brittany.

Best regards

Lovely stone manor estate with beautiful grounds and a magical, expansive vista from our hotel room. It looks a bit like a castle. The decor of the hotel is a blend of the original stone character and updated modern sections. Our hotel room was totally updated and modern--very comfortable, quite and clean with a spacious bathroom with plenty of hot water and heated towel racks. Getting to some of the hotel rooms may involve a steep spiral staircase. The grounds include a tennis court, brand new sauna, and a heated pool, which we were able to use, even on a cool Sept. afternoon. Dinner at the restaurant was very elegant and high end, offering gourmet meals with local products. Breakfast was adequate, with fresh fruit preserves from the region. Locating the Manoir does require attention. Our GPS did not pick up on the exact location, but we happened to see the very small sign on the right hand side of the road as drove out from Quimper.

Room tip: A room looking out across the grounds provides a lovely view of the area.

Modern interior, clean and comfortable. We stayed one Friday night en route to our camp site.

13yo, 10yo and 6yo loved the heated pool, the tennis court (rackets and balls provided), the games room (with free pinball machine) and the freedom to explore. Staff very eager to look after us. The 1200 checkout gave us ample time to enjoy the facilities.

Minor nits were that the WiFi was slow and the coffee not that great.

Staff were very helpful including changing our choice of room to better suit our family.

Popular wedding venue so likely to be full every weekend during the summer.

Highly recommended.
