We were here on a day when it was raining on and off. So, that kind of dampened the fun a bit. I like that you can go down by the river, and let your kids throw rocks in, etc. If we're ever in Petoskey again, I can see us going back here.
This place is neat, wish we would have seen someone kayaking but midweek during the day is probably not the best time to get a chance. The paths are paved and gravel, your choice and very well maintained. You can tell care was put into this place and it shows. We very much enjoyed taking the time to visit and go for a long walk.
I have been coming here since this place was just a hang out under the bridge. Now it has been turned into an attraction for hikers and cyclists. There is a beautiful trail for hiking and biking that runs on both sides of the river. There is a pavilion and lots of places to picnic. Modern restroom facilities are also available in the park. We rode all the way up to end on both sides connecting to the college on the east and the businesses on Hwy 131 on the west side. Definitely a place to check out if you are using the Wheelway. Be aware that travelling south is up hill but a great downhill ride on your return. Following the river also makes this a very attractive hike or ride. Its great to see kayakers too as you travel along the river.
To the beautiful paths for biking and walking if you are inPetoskey add this beautiful sight. It wouldnt take more than an hour but it is worth the effort.
Relaxing place summer or winter. The cross country skiing at Ranch Rudolf in the winter along the river is the greatest place. It is for those who like flat trails and who love nature.
Whether biking or walking, this is a great trail (maybe too short). Benches along the way with stairs and trails off the side for exploring (adorable little man-made waterfall about halfway through before the pavilion). Bathroom at the start of the trail (near Bayfront park), then it's an slight incline most of the way to the end. This makes for a very fast ride back to the beginning.
