This has been my best stay at a HI or HIE in a very long time. I was here 1 night for business travel. The hotel seems to be brand new or close to it. The hotel has a very modern look and feel to it and has all the amenities a traveler would want. Outside of Frisco, TX (which was about the same in terms of quality) this may be the nicest HI I have ever stayed at.

The lobby area and the entire hotel for that matteris very clean and bright. The lobby area has a very nice oversized gas fireplace and the hotel actually has some personality. If I didn't know it was a Holiday Inn I wouldn't have guessed it.

The room is large with a Medium size flat screen TV that swivels to you can see it from the bed or the workdesk. Very good lighting in the room and a remarkably quiet heating system that unlike most hotels never got to hot ot to cold. It was very hard to hear any noise from outside the room.

The room had a good size closest, Fridge and microwave a well as a coffee maker. There was also plenty of draw space if you are planning on an extended stay. The room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows which is always a pleasant surprise for a hotel.

Onsite at the hotel is a very nice sports bar with plenty of TVs and is also brand new, well lit and very clean. The entire hotel is surprisingly clean.

The bathroom is a good size with a large walk in shower, no Tub. I like this setup so I was happy to see it. I was not in a handicap room and I am not sure if all the rooms are shower only. There was plenty of hot water and the shower worked well.

The hotel itself is about 2miles outside of the airport and near several restaurants of varying pricepoints and very close to a gas station if you have rental.

The 24 hour business center is a group of several higher end workstations and an apple station along the wall in the lobb area. It had everything you would need including a very fast/nice Zerox Laser Printer, plus fax/copy is available.

The workout room is available 24hrs and was bigger than many hotels and it had a good variety of equipment. There was an indoor pool as well.

The hotel even has guest washer/dryers. I didn't use them but again if you were here for an extended stay it would come in handy.

There was a small cubby convenience store that had a fairly wide selection of items for sale including mini wines.

The high speed internet was faster and more reliable compared to most hotels I have stayed at and it was free.

I skipped breakfast so I can't comment on it but if I was in the mood I would have eaten there.

I could see business travelers on both short and long-term trips staying here as well as families with children.

You have to insert a key upon entering to turn on/keep the lights on....not an issue for me

This is a nice hotel located next to the airport. The rooms are very nice and most of the furnishings are new. My only complaints are that they do not offer a breakfast and the water pressure in the shower was very weak.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevators as they can be noisey

Enjoy staying each time that I'm in Detroit for business. Newer hotel with very clean rooms and a great sports bar on property. Staff is always friendly and very helpful. There is also a small store next to the front desk that you can purchase food or toiletries that you may have forgotten.

I usually stay at another hotel in the area when I fly, but it was full, so I tried the Holiday Inn. I'm glad I did! We stayed here and parked across the street when we took a short vacation. Not only was it cheaper than the other place we usually stay, it was much nicer. The room was large & the walk-in shower was great. The beds were really comfortable. They also supplied Bath & Body Works toiletries, which was nice. There is a full-service restaurant on the premises as well. Parking was also easy. The lot is right across the street & they had plenty of shuttles to get to & from the airport.
