Cedar Dunes Provincial park has camping, a great beach with a picturesque lighthouse on site. The lovely beach with soft red sand has great views and isnt crowed and you can walk the beach for miles. Lots of free parking available. West point lighthouse a working lighthouse on site which you can tour. Great place to watch the sunset and relax and enjoy life.
We were next to the road going to the beach, and someone stole our cooler full of our food and drinks. Apparently, it happens often there. We also complained about the site next to us encroaching too much on our site, but nothing was done. And, even after all the rain we had, they didn't allow fires. We'll never go back!
It is very pretty but due to a storm most of the boardwalk is closed and needs repairs. Still was quite awe inspiring looking at the dunes
We visited the park on a warm, sunny fall day. We would love to return to camp here as there are many nice camping lots and the park is right on the beach. The boardwalks in the area need to be rebuilt as they are unsafe in many areas. Nice beach ! The park was closed for the season when we were there so we are not sure about the amenities available.
Stopped here to see the lighthouse, which is beautiful. Walked the boardwalk to the beach - beware of poison ivy!! Beach was a little rocky, but still a nice walk. Not very busy as it was a bit cooler when we were there.
If you want to experience PEI without the commercialism, then this is the place for you. The beaches are very peaceful, providing a few miles of walking. We stayed at the inn down the beach, but the park is accessible and not off limits to inn guests. There is one restaurant at the working wharf down the road, plus a local craft shop. I really feel like I had an authentic PEI visit.
