We went as a couple and will be back soon. It's a little pricey, but not outrageous. They serve entrees individually with the intention that you share. The octopus salad was very good, the Thai chicken was incredible. Great bar and drinks as well.

CON: It was a cold, rainy night when we visited in June.. The air conditioning was on and we had to keep our coats on which took away from the ambience. The noise was so loud you could not hear the waiter explaining the choices.

PRO: Food choices were fascinating....very different and all excellent.....most I couldn't understand or repeat. Each couple should order 3 or 4 things to split off the menu and use the 2 hours allotted for your meal. This place is not for everyone but if you are adventurous you will love it.

Beautiful freash food, delicious to eat and delightful to see. Floor staff were knowladagble and attentive. Only disappointed we don't live nearby to be able to visit again sooner. Recommending to people we know locally.

Alliance and its creative cuisine checks all the boxes for an evening of trendy foodie fare. If creative farm-to-table food is your thing, you'll be delighted with Alliance.

The restaurant is small, so a reservation is highly encouraged, but not required if you get there early, or are willing to wait for a space on the outdoor patio. The service is friendly and accommodating. Diners are encouraged to order several items and share among their group, allowing all each person to sample a variety of the menu. While I think in many cases this is an ideal way to sample the menu, it does pose some challenges for a party of two with differing preferences. Regardless, the food is delicious. Be sure to save room for dessert. The "Sunchoke Cereal" is a special treat that will light your inner child ablaze, and have you wondering why you haven't always enjoyed your cereal with a lump of ice cream.

If you're looking for a trendy contemporary dining experience, you won't be disappointed. But for those looking for a more traditional formal dining experience, Alliance may not be exactly what you're looking for -- nothing negative -- just different from the traditional formal dining experience some may be looking for.

Alliance has really creative chefs. The problem is a lack of skill in some dishes and an overuse of rice vinegar in others. Parsnip with fois grad and fish roe sounded fab but the execution was poor. Turnips were cut from the large part of the turnip and they were boiled, watery and overcooked.
Thai chicken was perfect with sweet choke and sticky puffed rice, lots of mint and basil. We liked this so much that we ordered another . 2 very very small lamb ribs / person fir $28.00 was a bit ridiculous but the dish was flavorful. If paltry. We eat lamb ribs wherever they are on a menu so we know how the ought to be served.
Wines by the glass are very good here. It's probably the most upscale innovative place in the area but that isn't a huge compliment considering how backward the cuisine is in the area. I'd give it a tryout sure. Just keep expectations intact.
