The room wasn't great. Pretty minimal for the amount we paid! The shower hadn't been cleaned, even had the previous people's soap on the floor of the shower. Then I woke up to dripping at 3:00am and the air conditioner had soaked my purse (& all of my belongings in it) as well as part of my suitcase. I put a couple towels to catch the water, cleaned up the mess. In the morning the entire stack of towels were soaked. I told the front desk and she didn't seem to care. She said "Oh, they must not have emptied that one." No real apology, offer a partial refund, or anything. Then the so called continental breakfast was awful.

Good location. Room was fine. Clean, with no frills, and the price reflects that. But where they excelled was with customer service. Lisette was delightful. She was professional and accommodating. Lovely personality, great recommendation for dinner. And generally the type of person you want to encounter when traveling. Made my experience here much more enjoyable. Thank you, Lisette.

You should know first that I do not care for motels in general. I don't like the idea of people walking by and looking into your room unless the drapes are closed. With the drapes closed, the room was dark -- there were no overhead light fixtures in the bedroom area. However the back of the room was a large counter with fridge and microwave. There was an open hanging rack for clothes. Above that area was a large bank of fluorescent lights -- like in a brightly lit office. Tiny bathroom and no full-length mirror. The included breakfast was a cold breakfast with cereal and pastry. We did not use the internet, but another couple with us did and commented that it was not very reliable. We usually stay at the Hampton Inn when we visit Traverse City but it was booked. This was better than a campground.

Room Tip: It seems that the rooms on the ground level have double beds and the rooms on the 2nd floor have king size beds.

Checked in late and the night desk clerk was quite flustered by a computer shutdown. As it was midnight i was eager to get checked in and as I had already paid it should have been an easy option to send me to my room rather than wait for the computer to reboot. Very basic motel set up with an outside staircase and walk way by the front of the rooms. The curtains do not really provide much overlap so a quick fix is to put the luggage rack on top of the a/c units to hold the curtains closed. No usb ports for re-charging so electrical plugs only. Small desk, TV, fridge, air conditioning and coffee maker. Iron and Ironing board in room. Very basic bathroom amenities (bar soap, shampoo, lotion). My room also had a large Jacuzzi tub. Pretty quiet setting. Breakfast is nothing much to speak of, mini muffins, doughnut holes, cold cereal, coffee/tea served in the lobby area. Free parking.
