We stumbled upon this gem during Spring Break. They had a run of free movies for the week (all run by volunteers). Someone suggested we sit in the balcony. What a gorgeous view. The ceiling has all the northern lights/stars adorning it. The seats were surprisingly comfy. The popcorn is made in coconut oil and was delicious. We will definitely be back here again. If you are looking for a theater with charm and a classical setting don’t look any farther.

This theater redefines going to the movies. It is a pleasant experience from the minute you buy your tickets from a friendly volunteer; then buy inexpensive but excellent popcorn (medium popcorn and medium pop is $5.). The seats are comfortable and there is a balcony. Trailers for the coming movies, but no ads! Yahoo! We saw a great movie and they also have Saturday matinees for kids (25 cents!); Wednesday matinees are the oldies, but goodies (also 25 cents!)

I wish more communities would bring back old venues like this. This is a gorgeous old theater. Prices are extremely reasonable. A BIG thank you to all the volunteers.

The State Theatre transports you back in time and provides you with a nostalgic and memorable movie experience.

You are first greeted by incredible volunteers who really enhance this experience with their obvious passion for this Theatre. Next, if you’re in the mood for a treat, you will notice the more than reasonable concession prices. Note: A large bag of popcorn for $5 is virtually unheard of in 2017.

The acoustics, seating and decor is easily worth the price of admission.

The State Theatre makes you fall in love with movies all over again.
