Ideal place to visit as a family or even as conducting a big business conference.
It is magnificent.... Three separate hotels connected with each others, with beautiful beach and very nice pools. You feel like you are in paradise. Just an amazing place

Spent my husband a 37th bday in this hotel and it was a memorable day not just for the celebrant but for the whole family.
We had a room upgrade from al-waha to al-bandar.
Upon stepping off the car, uniformed gentlemen are ready to take the luggage from the guests which was a great help when uouew also carrying a sleeping 3y.o child.
Checking in took longer than expected due to the number of guests upon our arrival and there were only 3 people Manning the reception desk catering to us.And we were just given an instruction going to our room afterwards which seemed like a room hunting in a maze considering the layout of this massive hotel.
Our room was good with a partial view of the mountains, grounds and some parts of the building. "Partial" in the sense that most of the views were covered by the pa/date trees. On the plus side, it offers some privacy especially at night when you fail to completely shut the curtains and the lights are on.
The bed was comfortable for the 3 of us with a variety of pillows. Indeed, we had several pillows ranging from soft to firm which you can choose from depending on your preference.
They also gave us a complimentary cot for our child which she enjoyed since she never experienced sleeping on her own bed/cot before.
The bathroom was moderately large with a tub and more than sufficient supply of toiletries. My husband and daughter finished the whole bottle of shower gel and shampoo that morning before hitting the pool and when we came back to our room late in the afternoon everything was refilled with fresh bottles of everything! Some hotels can be a bit stingy with this but not shangri-la I guess.
Buffet breakfast and dinner is so filling with its wide variety of choices that not only had the adults preferences in mind but those of the youngsters as well. We had our bfast and dinner at al-tanoor all the time since it was the nearest one to our room. But I plan to try other resto when we get the chance to be back here.
Facilities and activities are numerous wherein both adults and kids can have a time of there life.
This was our first time to stay in Muscat and as my family just arrived March of this year, my husband was always telling me that he wanted to experience riding a camel- wish granted on his birthday!
For my 3 y.o she can still remember the experience of seeing baby turtle hatch and find their way to the beach.
From camel to horse riding, water sports, kiddie pool and adult pool and the lazy river, to a child's place that have educational activities, to the mini golf, to a fully equipped gym and a massage and spa area- you'd wish you can live there!
Shangri-la has a way of pampering guests that would make you wish you could stay longer...uuu

Only here for two days, wish it was for longer.
Got adjoining rooms, ground floor next to baby pool. Fabulous rooms, everything you could wish for and more. Facilities tired but still very popular, the children didn't notice that a couple of places in the splash area needed a coat of paint.
We all enjoyed the lazy river and used it several times.
The staff cannot be faulted, they do everything to make sure your stay is stress free.
We came to hotel as half boarders. The breakfast buffet was plentiful, with various choices.
The evening buffet was stupendous. All nationalities catered for.
The hotel we stayed in is one of three. One for adults only. In our hotel there was no alcohol at all in the dining rooms over Ramadan. However, if you wanted to you could order room service and obtain it that way.
Will have to come back next year but stay longer.
Will be taking the shuttle into town tonight to see sights etc...
Excellent all round.

Room tip: We looked on line then called expressing what we wanted. We got it.

Dear mariaalmeida1863, Thank you for staying with us at the Al Waha hotel within the resort and posting your feedback on TripAdvisor. I am delighted you enjoyed you stay and wish you could have stayed longer. You will have noticed that Al Bandar was closed during Ramadan and I am happy to say we are well into completing a makeover of the rooms and some improvements to the facilities. We will also renovate the splash pad later this year. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Warm regards, Mark Kirk

Without doubt the best hotel experience I have had. Attention to detail is faultless and the staff are incredibly well trained and attentive. It is high-end pricewise, but you really do get what you pay for.
