We have just returned home from a wonderful two night break to celebrate my partner's birthday. We traveled by train (which was subject to delays), yet the owners were kind enough to bear with us and came to pick us up from the station at Hebden Bridge, which was very much appreciated!
Paula was so friendly and let us know of all the local walks and points of interest near the cottage. The coal fire was burning on arrival and we were thrilled to find that a lovely bottle of wine and "Happy Birthday" greeting (beautifully crafted by the owners children) had been left for us. What a warm welcome!
We soon settled in by the fire and made ourselves comfortable. We woke early the next morning to walk on a stunning path through Pecket Well, by the waterfall and down through Midgehole to Hebden Bridge. We were so lucky to have had really nice weather considering the time of year. It was also a great walk to indulge in some wild mushroom foraging, we found a great many varieties along the way.
We will certainly be looking to stay here again in the future and would gladly recommend the cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing break. Many thanks to Paula, Rodger and family for sharing their space with us.
