Born and raised in the area I've watched the mine keep groing. Quite a sight. Breathtaking for mining buffs.

We were in route to our family vacation rental and decided to stop in here. For directions to the mine area, follow the signs posted in Hibbing, as my GPS has us lost. We arrived just after 5pm and the place was closed. We were still able to see the mining trucks at work, and we had a picnic lunch as there was a nice picnic table for us to use. Very interesting for my grandsons to see, wish we had made it there when they were open.

Watch the hudge trucks being loaded with iron ore. This is where it all starts in the process of making US steel. Climb onto one of the big dump trucks. Amazing view!

I learned a lot about the iron range area as well as the hull rust mine . Beautiful view of the mine itself as well as a fully stocked gift shop.
