Embudu Village is a lovely little island (you can walk around it in about 15 minutes)! It doesn't have the luxurious resort feeling, which is good: it is just perfect that way. It is not pretentious, but family like, while enjoying all you can want.
Staff are all super friendly and helpful. Remember to bring enough money to tip (Dollars best) as there is no ATM. Rooms are clean and are cleaned twice a day. They have both aircon and ventilator, so you can choose which to use. Beds are quite firm, maybe a bit too firm. Tea and coffee making facility and fridge available in the room. For people who worry about spiders: nothing in the rooms, just seen one outside. There are mosquitos though, so be prepared. The little shop sells stuff for it, as well as sunscreen and after sun lotion.
From the room (15) it was 35 steps to the sea and there were never more than 7 people there at the same time, it felt immensely private.
You can hear the sea in the room! Each room has a little basin to wash the sand of your feet and a washing line and towel rack on the little terrace.
The excursions the hotel offers were good. I did the dolphin spotting at sunset and the submarine. Both were perfectly lovely. I especially recommend the spa: treat yourself to a lovely massage, just before you fly back: your muscles will thank you. The food was good, varied and plenty. I had full board, as I hardly drink alchohol, it is much cheaper that way.
All in all: beautiful small island, friendly staff and atmosphere and perfect place to reload energy!
