Table of four, all of us requiring super mild food, the waiter made sure we didn't order a dish that couldn't be made at less than medium spice. Best garlic naan we've found: hot from the tandoor, flaky and soft at the same time, the garlic is sweet from the high temp cooking. Samosas, black lentil pancakes and vegetarian momos (dumplings) are sturdy appetizers, great for cold weather. It's too bad my husband and I almost always get his saag paneer and my saag chicken as so many of the other dishes are equally yummy, but we usually remember to go to Himalayan when we NEED their saag! The owner is always out in the dining room making sure everything is perfect, and we're tickled that he recognizes us when we only get to his restaurant about 3 times a year----but we've been customers for more than 10 years and we frequently bring friends who haven't been there before---that way we get more dishes to sample. The menu notes which items are or can be vegetarian or gluten free---we've never had a special request that they couldn't handle. We've also been with friends who like their curries super hot, and they were very pleased with the authenticity of the options to add spice. It's not fancy, but I'd probably go weekly if I went to the gym enough to handle all the cream and ghee in the saag! YUM!
