The hotel was chosen for me, as it was close to our offices. I generally despise business travel, so I wasn't really in the mood to be there, but the hotel won me over. The beds were very comfortable, and I slept quite soundly - something I rarely do when travelling alone.

I only ate at the restaurant one night, the filet mignon was delicious, although a little small for the price. The french fries were perfect.

If you are travelling for anything other than business, this may not be the place for you, but if you are, you will be hard-pressed to find a much better stay.

Stayed here when going to the Lions vs. Vikings game. While there is construction with the bridge that made it a little difficult to get there, once we were there we were pleased with the hotel. We were upgraded to a jacuzzi suite which after 700 miles of driving was so welcome. The hotel is minutes from downtown, and we will surely stay here again. The price was right as well as they were running a deal for Marriott Elite members which made it very reasonable.

This is a great hotel for weekend stays and I would recommend it if you're in the area.

Room Tip: ask for the upgrade to suites. They offered an upgrade for just a few dollars more and that is worth the extra. It also included breakfast.

Let's start with the location. There is nothing to see or to do anywhere within walking distance of this hotel.

And then there's the room. The concierge level rooms are very tired - the style of decor is a pastiche of 'crazy bag lady' and 'newlywed couple's first apartment'.

Finally, I would like to give a special shout-out to the guest in the neighbouring suite that sounded as if he was scooting a dining room table around his room all night.

Our client company picked the location due to proximity to their office. It was a bit of a drive from the airport, which could be a problem if you arrive/depart during rush hours.

The desk staff were very friendly, making you feel right at home. We checked-in quickly and were in our rooms in no time. We had to hurry for the dinner meeting scheduled after our arrival, so the quick check-in was appreciated.

The rooms were very good - clean, comfortable bed and away from the elevator.

Our dinner was excellent, with good selection. It was a Sunday night and not busy. We were setup in a nice table location so that we could have a private dinner business meeting, away from others. The service was good - just there when you need then, and watching for any requests.

The breakfast was excellent: a buffet which had great selection, but if we requested anything else, the order was quickly met - like that extra coffee. With the time zone change, that certainly helped.

The drive back to the airport was slow due to rush hour - the only downside to our trip. It's definitely a good business hotel.

While the hotel overall is fine and evidences a friendly staff, don't be mislead by the promise of in-room wireless. It's there, all right, as long as you pony up $13 a day for the privilege. With economy hotels all offering wireless for free, this out-of-line charge smacks of pettiness and greed. At the prices they charge for the room, wireless should come standard. Obviously they don't cater to the business traveler, or anyone who, like me, relies on their computer. This insane charge ruined an otherwise pleasant experience at the hotel.
