There is much to do here, a walking path, benches along the river to watch, eagles, boats and barges, water park, picnic pavilions, tennis courts, basketball court, boat landing, and of course the universal playground. Our niece's and nephew's love visiting this park when they visit

Easy drive up to take a nice walk and see the view. Be sure to go to both the upper and lower quarry's.

Eagles congregate between Red Wing and Wabasha Minnesota in the winter as there are various places where the Mississippi River does not freeze over, and these are places where eagles can fish. Just north of Lake Pepin, we found dozens of eagles in December. This time we saw four on the way to Red Wing and a couple in the trees watching the river in Colvill Park. The area is just under an hour's drive from Rochester.

Stopped by for an hour or more for our 6 year old grandaughter to play. She loved it and says it's a 5 ster playground. We enjoyed walking along the river and watched a barge head down the river. The gardens were still pretty even though it was late October. I would love o return in the summer.
