A basic economical stop. Friendly staff. Room older but clean. Beds firm but very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is in a very small area (right where you check-in), but the little cinnamon rolls were good and it met the need. All in all we got what we paid for so no complaints.

First time staying at the Red Carpet Inn. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean, quiet, and affordable. They also had a shuttle back and forth to Mayo which made our stay stress free.

Myself and brothers stayed here as a base for our deer hunting east of Rochester. Slept okay, rooms were quiet, front desk was friendly and helpful. The actual motel has seen much better days - veneer peeling off doors, water leaks from toilet tank (thankfully not urine) in two of our three rooms. Rust in the corner of the tub, threadbare bath towels and the thinnest bars of soap I have ever seen. But the shower worked, the alarm clock worked, and we didn't need much more than we got.

Did not try the breakfast. Also, there is no elevator for the second floor, and the word "Pool" has masking tape over it. But the price was right for us - two queens for under $60 per night.

The rooms are worn out and old. The doors are peeling. There is a musty smell in the room. We asked for an extra bed or roll but were told that they are not available. In the room which has two queen beds there were only two towels and we had to go all the way to the office to get them. Then we realised that there is no spare blanket or pillow in any of the draws or cupboards and we had to go all the way to the office and were provided with two thin bed sheets. In the bath room near the tub for the tap the blue gives hot water and the red cold water. Breakfast is in office where there is hardly a place for 8 people to sit. There is no milk to eat with cereal. May be it is good for people looking at budget. We asked some friends in US to book rooms and we did not realise that they would be booking us in this hotel in Roch

First off, if you cannot "do" stairs, make sure you request as such as there is no elevator. I will admit that I was concerned reading some reviews and based on a previous visit to different hotel years ago, and I can safely say we were VERY happy to stay here. Very friendly people working there, VERY clean ( and I give white glove treatments OCD). Yes, it is an older building, but the rooms were HUGE, and I mean that even with a king size bed, night stand, big table, 2 chairs, lamp, dresser AND a recliner, that a wheelchair could easily get around in there. Microwave & bigt frig, coffee maker in each room, big storage area for luggage / hanging clothes / shelf on top for storage. Very pleased to see handicap toilets in bathrooms. There is a wall AC unit in each room, and it kept the room nice & cool. Very close to everything- Wal Mart 1/4 mi. away. Shuttle bus (very friendly driver) picks up & drops off at the front door very promptly to take to Mayo clinic & hospitals. Would I stay there again ? IN A HEARTBEAT. We were listening to others on the shuttle talking about their hotel rooms at the bigger name hotels, paying $27+ more per night for small cramped rooms and problems. Do not expect the Taj Mahal, but do not be worried either.

Room tip: If you cannot do stairs, ask for a ground floor room, as there is no elevator.
