We had been to the northside Newt's several times, so tried the downtown version. To reach this location you must climb an iron fire escape stairs to the second floor of an old downtown building and it is more of a bar with food than a restaurant that serves drinks and is about 1/3 scale of north. I had the Hickory Bacon Cheeseburger; ordered medium, arrived medium rare (??) and was a little salty. But taste was good, and bacon was actually hot. Fries soft and tasty. Wait staff was accommodating and professional. Place needed to be deep cleaned (disregarding Newt's usual free popcorn on the floor) as the ceiling tiles around air ducts had fuzzy/oily lint-dust all over, and windows overlooking the downtown street scene below, were dirty and streaked. A little TLC would improve this place a lot. Overall, stick with Newt's north.
