While passing through Rushford on our way to SD, we stayed overnight in the town before heading out the next day. We picked up a menu for Il Luigi Italian Restaurant and are we ever glad we did! Very complete menu with lots of options and daily specials which all sounded very good to two tired, hungry travelers. A nice wine list including a good house chianti (a requisite for a good Italian meal) served as a good place to start and the appetizers were excellent as was the two daily specials. Our waitress was a sweet young lady in training so she talked a bit too much but maybe just small town friendliness. She was efficient and helpful so we engaged her even though we were bushed! The desserts and decaf were excellent as well; certainly everything was far better than we expected to find in rural, small town Minnesota! And the chef/owner turned out to be from Ecuador, not Italy! But he sure knows his way around Italian food and we will certainly be back when we are in the area!
