Stayed at this hotel 3 days for a conference for work. The hotel through and through is historical, beautiful and classic. The decor fits with the historic theme but does not look outdated. The staff was friendly and polite. Even though the hotel was busy during the conference the check in and out was pleasant, fast and easy. My only complaint was the St Paul Grill. Me and a colleague went down for dinner, we sat at our table for at least a minimum 15 mins before our waitress came over to take our food order, because of this we ended up leaving and going outside of the hotel to eat.

This is a classic hotel. Nice rooms. Great bar (a bit expensive). Perfect location close to bars, pubs, cafes and resturants. Three blocks from Mickey's Diner. The valet parking was a bit squirrelly, but we finally got our car. I'll stay here again. Great place.

From the moment we arrived late (at 1:30 a.m.) to the moment we checked out three days later, we were so impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff here -- and that includes everyone, from housekeeping to the front desk and the valet parking. The rooms are classy and comfortable, with very cozy chairs (complete with foot rests!) and great beds. And at such a reasonable price, too!

I've stayed and dined and the St. Paul hotel numerous times and never been disappointed. You walk through the doors and step back in time. Back to a time when service and quality were valued. The hotel itself is beautiful and they have done a remarkable job keeping it updated. Each room seems to be a little different but they are all comfortable. The St. Paul Grill is great for special occasions and Sunday brunch. I love the bar for an evening drink.

This is one of the great, classic hotels of America -- in the style and manner of what were once referred to as the Canadian Pacific Hotels dotted across Canada. And yes, not only did Capone sleep here but there are many other great stories about Al Capone and other assorted ghosts at the St Paul Hotel. The charm of this palace is, of course, the place -- St. Paul, one of the truly great ostensible destinations in America. So much to unpack about the city (and the twin cities), so much to see, and the hotel is a fantastic base camp. You'll enjoy the bar and facilities -- skip the breakfast room entirely and go out and explore the city. In the summer, down the hill you will find the St Paul Saints baseball stadium -- an architectural gem -- or in the winter, ice hockey right around the corner. The Mississippi is in your backyard -- Capone's back alley -- all worth exploring.
