Cania Gorge Big 4 is a fantastic place for the young family members and those young at heart. We are regular visitors to the park, and it’s always an enjoyable experience. Camp sites are large, most have shade during the day, and all conveniently located close to amenities including fully decked out camp kitchens with tv’s and multiple gas and electric barbecues.
Plenty to do including water park with 3 pools and a water slide that even adults can ride. Jumping pillow also on site and it’s huge, however no shade during the hottest part of the day, so popular in the mornings and late afternoons. Three Moon Creek runs beside the grounds and it’s lovely for an afternoon walk. Abundant bird life, with birds even coming into your camp area and able to be held. Bird feeding also at 5pm selected afternoons, and it’s a sight to behold (wear a hat so when the birds land on you, and trust me they do, your head won’t be scratched). Small shop also on site with everything you could need.
Can be extremely warm in summer and freezing in winter, but still plenty to do for all!!

This caravan park is amazing. The staff are the friendliest, loveliest people ever and nothing is too much trouble. You can have a campfire and they sell fabulous buckets of wood that last all night long and well into the next day. The bird life is spectacular and late at night if you’re lucky you’ll see a Bettong (small marsupial). They do fish and chips on Fridays, the best wood fired pizza you’ll ever have on a Saturday and an awesome camp oven dinner Monday nights. The food is spectacular and great value. The wine tasting on Saturday nights is also not to be missed - $5 to sample some great wine and the opportunity to buy bottles of what you loved. Can not fault one thing about this park, the Staff and the awesome experience of staying here. Do yourself a favour and experience it for yourself- you will not regret it - but will wish you could stay for longer. 10/10

We stayed two nights in a cosy clean and comfortable little cabin with an ensuite and a balcony on the outside. It was very private looking towards the creek and no others in sight. I thought I checked the website for provision of meals but we made a mistake and none were available for the Tuesday and Wednesday nights we stayed (only some other nights such as Camp Oven on Mondays, fish and chips on Fridays, and Pizza on Saturdays). The nearest town is Monto but as it was half an hour away we couldn't face more driving. So our option was some BBQ meat out of the freezer and bread to cover the two nights. We bought an icecream before the shop closed at 5 (eat desert first!) The meat was tasty but sadly it was burnt offerings on the second night. We already had makings for breakfast and lunch thankfully.
The park is a short drive to the main National Park walks. The water slides and pool looked very popular with families especially as it was hot and dry. They had a bird feeding hour but we had our own bird visitors on our balcony but we didn't feed them- fairly tame kookaburras, and male king parrots. It is better for them to eat bush tucker and there is plenty along the edges of the Three Moons Creek coming from the nearby damn.
The downside of sitting on the balcony was the pesky mosquitoes- quite bad in the afternoon. We didn't notice mosquitoes in the National Park Rest area or the Park itself.
The Caravan Park seems to be well-managed and well-cared for with efficient staff. The little shop offers real cappucinos (big plus), has TV reception and gas BBQs. No pets allowed - there is so much wildlife around.
I would definitely recommend this park but check for meal nights or bring food. Hopefully we can return in a cooler season.

We arrived at the BIG4 Cania Gorge Holiday Park after driving all day only to find we had booked a cabin for 2021 instead of 2020, and the park was full with no cabins available. However, park management and staff would not see us turned away and set up a big caravan for us they had recently purchased for the park.
We were able to stay for the three nights, very comfortably in the caravan. We are extremely grateful to the wonderful staff at the park for their hospitality.
A very convenient location as a base to explore the sights and walks of Cania Gorge and Cania Dam.

Glad we could help out with your stay, it would of been very disappointing to come all that way to find out you had booked in the wrong year. Good that you had a great time exploring and enjoyed our hospitality.

For a rural Big 4 holiday Park I was just blown away.We do many camp trips and this is right up there as a great memory made .
Firstly the team at BIG 4 are so very helpful informative and always smiling they all work extremely hard to ensure all amenities, camp kitchens, pool ,jumpy pillow ,court and entire grounds are spotless.
I couldn't believe when we arrived that this crew at BIG 4
had a fish n chip night, wood fired pizza night & roast dinner camp oven night . We could only fit in pizza and fish n chips and they were absolutely beautiful . They have the organisation of this down to the T. 10/10.The Woodfire pizza oven is the biggest I have ever seen what a great area to sit wine taste and match it with a pizza . Now the walks we did were beautiful in the national park the overhang my favourite. We hired the tinnie from BIG 4 and chanced our luck for a fish on the cania dam I caught one but he was smart enough to jump of before I could get Barry the bass in the boat.LOL. Now as we boated up the river there is a cattle station attached to the surrounds of the dam and they blended in to this beautiful landscape of the edges of the dam.THE LANDSCAPE amazing.
So we also tried our skill on the BIG 4 cania golf course LOL.. The wallabies and kangaroos our spectators this was fun and again the landscape AMAZING .
Nearly every little wallaby I walked past had a beautiful joey poking their little face out to check out the campers .The bird feeding in the afternoon is a favourite for all when all the local birds flock for a feed and some human interaction. The water park - my kids love with 3 pools and a slide and water park feature for the little ones (winning) .Let's not forget the outdoor movie each night... even Skippy one night took in the Red dog movie wonder what Skippy rated it.. couldn't believe when I looked over and a kangaroo was watching the movie from a distance of course
The on-site office/shop is stocked with your necessities if you happen to require anything and its an opportunity to have a chat with this AMAZING BIG 4 Team who is a credit to the parks success. LOVE YOUR WORK TEAM CANIA . We will be back and with many friends and family .
