This review is for the Pontoon and Tapas 2 hour cruises that Tallys/CJ Hooks does in the summer. My husband and I went on a Thursday night Craft Brewery cruise with our son and enjoyed it so much that we came back and did 2 more cruises. The Craft Brewery cruise offered a couple types of beer from a brewery that hosted the cruise. We also had an appetizer that was yummy, but I don't know what it was (something with salmon I think). Then later in the summer we did the Sunday morning Bloody Pirate and Tapas Cruise TWICE! That cruise offers Bloody Marys and Mimosas along with the 2 hour pontoon boat ride on White Bear Lake. We had muffins, fresh fruit, and some very good bars to snack on while we cruised the peaceful waters of White Bear Lake. We had a lovely anniversary cruise and then later in the summer went with some friends that were moving. The weather was perfect on all 3 of the cruises we took, and our son and our friends liked it as much as we did. I would highly recommend these to anyone that likes boating, food, drinking, and great people! Our hosts were Jan and Keith. They were very knowledgeable about the lake and the history and made the cruise fun. We had never been to Tally's Dockside or CJ Hooks before this summer, but we will definitely be back!

I rented two pontoons and scheduled a buffet-style lunch, for a group of 20 peers as a work celebration event. Tally's staff was professional and answered all of my questions. The boats were ready for us when we arrived. Lunch was DELICIOUS & very reasonably priced! We had a good mix of fisher-people and passengers relishing in relaxation. It was a great day for all!

Just ate lunch at Tallys (CGs)...nice outdoor patio overlooking boats on white bear Lake. Not gorgeous, but in town, nice to be outdide on a small patio. Supposedly have music 3 nights a wk in summer.

Like other reviewers, we left frustrated. Good choices are more for dinner, not lunch. Salad choices were pretty much boring kettuce salad, overpriced. Too expensive for what you get.

CGs gives tiny portions...for 13 got 3 tiny (child-size) tacos, a half cup of cold rice with about 2 tablespoons of black beans on top. Pulled pork was tasteless, COLD, and had a few strings of super dry cabbage on top. Dry, tasteless taco. Salsa on the side was sweet, okay, and helped swallow. 4" wide soft Taco shell rolled held maybe 2-3 Tbsp meat.

Hardly worth $13.

They were not busy when we arrived at 1:00. Took 50 minutes from the time we walked in to getting our food. We couldn't get the waitresses attention, didnt refill drinks, and couldn't get bill. After we asked it, took another 15 minutes and tried to be patient, but finally walked inside tiki bar area to ask for it because we had somewhere 1 hour away to be! There were 6 make teenagers working!! Had only seen 1 of them in the patio area. Waitress returned with bill and apologized for wait and stated only 2 waitresses! There were 4 boys standing around, 2 girls walking food from CGs across the street, 2 boys getting drinks!!!

This wasn't a problem with the waitress. Yes she wasn't super good, but was more of a problem with MGMT/Owner deciding menu, and managing workers. It's ridiculous to have 4 guys standing around inside and 2 girls running.

My time is worth more. Would not go back.find another restaurant with better food, more if it, and better mgmt.

Stopped in for the music at Talley's Dockside and ribs from C.G. Hooks. The music was great but the ribs were average at best. May go back for the lakeside venue but will eat elsewhere.
