“Getaway Weekend”

Was at the Beau for a 3nt stay in Feb. for the first time, my brother and I did a gambling trip. The hotel is beautiful. Anything you need is right there. Stores, great restuarants and more. The room was great, nice big bathrooms, and the beds were comfortable. Had a great time!

I stayed at the resort for a conference last weekend. I reserved a non smoking room in which they told me they were sold out and I would need a smoking room. I insisted since I have tobacco allergies and finally got 'the last' non smoking room.

Pros: room is spacious, separate shower and bathtub
Cons: room had a 'musty' smell - especially the closet

Room Tip: Certain rules have wi-fi, make sure when you check in to request a room that does.

If you are looking for a beautiful hotel along the Gulf Coast, Beau Rivage in Biloxi Mississippi is the ideal destination. Whether or not you want access to the casino in the hotel, the true star of this destination is the wide beautiful sandy beaches. In the winter, walk for hours in relative solitude. This is the place where you can clear your head and simply listen to the waves rolling up on the beach. In the post Katrina era, there is less residential and commercial activity but your tourist dollars are appreciated wherever you go in the area, whether it is in museums or restaurants. Don't be afraid to explore the diverse environment within a couple of hours drive of Biloxi.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gulf. Watch the fishing boats come and go from the comfort of your ro...

Pros - good size room, separated walk in shower and soaking tub in a large bathroom. Flat screen tv.
Cons - rugs in bathroom and shower stall don't look clean. Some colleagues that asked for non smoking rooms were told they had to take smoking rooms as no smoking rooms were unavailable. What??? You must walk through smoky casino to get to convention center where they allow smoking in the lobby. What??? No coffee maker, fridge, or microwave in room. Don't believe Internet is free. You pay for it in the resort fee.

This is our second trip to BR via a free gambling charter. Can't beat this hotel, probably the nicest in Biloxi. We stayed here from Feb. 20-23, most expenses paid by the MGM, flight, room, most of our food was comped. Even though the room was comped, I'd complain if it weren't nice. But it was nice, the hotel was nice, gambling was a little tight but we had fun on Roulette anyway. The king room was nice, clean and roomy. Bathroom was lovely and large. Food at the buffet was good for breakfast, service was great also. We also ate at the cafe, which was very good, don't know why folks complain about the food. We also ate at the little snack shop at the back of the casino, it was very good also! Who da thunk? The lobby is large with a soaring ceiling, beautiful flowers and decor. We took the casino hopper trolly to three other casinos just to see what they were like and hands down the Beau was really the best. The IP was ok, but when we asked for a Bacardi and coke, we got a Bacardi and PEPSI, yuck! The Palace was wonderful because it was smoke free, yeah! But it was kind of dead in there, maybe it was a slow day. The Hard Rock was fun, won at the slots and had a great lunch comped, nothing to complain about there! All in all, it was a great trip and we really enjoyed the Beau. We happened to be there during Mardi Gras and the town had a HUGE parade. We watched it from our window in our room for a while, those folks were really getting after those bead necklaces. Not sure I get this but it was fun to watch. All in all a fun trip and we'd do it again, and we'd stay at the Beau again also.

Room Tip: City view is great to watch the Mardi Gras Parade from!

I visited Beau Rivage for the first time. It happened to include Fat Tuesday. The lines to restaurants were awful for this event. I waited in the Buffet line for 30 minutes only to have it closed. I was told I had to wait another 30 minutes before they would reopen it. When I complained to the staff, I received a very rude and negative response.

The hotel itself is OK, but the rooms are small and maintenance is not that great. The tub was small and the stopper did not work. The pillows are foam and very uncomfortable. For my buck, I would go to New Orleans for gambling (why would anyone go to a casino if gambling was not on the agenda?)

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a larger suite. I was told they have them.
