This restaurant has maintained the feel and atmosphere of a cosy pub, but with food and décor that demonstrate that this is so much more. Excellent menu offering good, unadulterated wholesome staples (lobster, Chateaubriand, Plaice, halibut etc.). Small portions but presented well. Desserts were a little disappointing. The highlight for us for the tour of the substantial wine cellar and the choice of wines with our dinner (too many - we can't remember leaving!). Recommended for a 'special' night out!

Fabulous restaurant set in the countryside.
We had an evening meal with a visit to the wine cellar to choose our wine for the evening.
Husband drinks the wonderful wine with you while his wife cooks a lovely meal.
You couldn't make up the comical comments between the 2 of them. The dessert trolley!!!! Wow!
If you love wine then this is a great visit

Sunday roast - wow!!! Choice of two meats, specials board or regular menu and all truly home cooked! A taste of yesterday - My hubby even ordered an extra portion of roast potatoes instead of dessert!!!!
Thank you Sian xxx

Food was ok , although not the biggest of portions . £ 10 -50 for Cottage Pie with seasonal veg , ( no chips for that price) . expected more .. Decent service , this place is out of the way so not really any passing trade . Probably will go back one day , but wont rush

Hi thanks for your review. It's homemade cottage pie using the best quality beef mince. It has potato as a topping so normally don't offer a second potato on the side. Hence served with seasonal veg. Hope the rest of your table enjoyed their meals and we see you again soon

a very quaint and old pub in a country setting. plenty of parking. been twice and both times have been lovely. great service by the young waiter. food lovely and couldn't fault. reasonable prices. one of my faves to eat real good home fayre, will be such a shame to lose this into a residential house. The pub was very quiet but a few people in the restaurant eating. well worth the drive out and highly recommended
