My wife & I started patronizing Pirrone's in Florissant semi-regularly a few years ago, as they are one of the few local restaurants who chose to stay in the neighborhood while most others were moving with the suburban sprawl. Takeout pizza orders are a large part of their business, but they have a rather large dine-in area broken into several rooms that always does a brisk business. We are not big pizza fans, but their Italian dishes are very tasty and we always receive attentive service. Portions are large, but they accommodate smaller appetites (and tighter budgets) with a variety of sizes for several of their popular dishes. Their lasagna is my favorite, after an appetizer of their cannelloni bites w/ marinara. My wife usually starts with a dinner salad (simple tossed greens with a mound of shredded mozzarella - ask for a smaller mound - and a very good house dressing), followed by their Pasta Trio which leaves enough for two more meals to-go. Both red & white sauces are very good on their pasta dishes.
A special mention for Katelyn who waited on us last night. The early Saturday evening supper crowd was very large, and she was assigned a large table with more than a dozen adults PLUS a separate table of their young children. She managed to attend to all of them in a timely & very friendly manner, while providing equally impressive attentive service to our table-for-two & two other small parties. Excellent job, Katelyn!
