Such a beautiful upscale restaurant (without being crazy expensive). The food is amazing!! They make all of their own pasta and it makes it so good. The maple bacon Brussels sprouts are a MUST!!! The staff is always so nice and sweet and make sure you have a lovely time.

While dinner at The Black Walnut Bistro is well worth a short wait, you can avoid the wait by calling ahead for a reservation. We were seated pretty quickly, had an excellent meal including a decadent dessert, and found the service, and the food, well worth our trip to Hermann.

Everything we ate was superb, Lobster Ravioli, Caesar salad, House salad, Shrimp & Lobster Fettuccine, Steak meatball Stroganoff. This little corner of heaven is located in Hermann Mo, on 1st Street, you will want to make the trip!

While strolling along the main street of town we asked a local where we could get a nice relaxing supper. She said, without hesitation, The Black Walnut Bistro. What a wonderful experience. The waitress was very friendly and explained they took in picking and preparing the freshest ingredients. We started with local wines from Stonehill and Hermannhof wineries, suggested pairings from the menu. Fresh bread and butter along with delicious salads. I had the tossed with house creamy Italian and my wife had the ceasar. Both were delicious. I enjoyed the creamy lemon, dill shrimp pasta. Very good. My wife had the Chicken carbonara which she loved. The overall experience was very pleasant and we both agreed we'd return.

Four of us went there on Monday night following the eclipse and all four meals were really excellent. The restaurant was very nicely decorated in a contemporary style that could be found in any major metropolitan area.

The crab cakes and Brussel sprouts were excellent as was the 6 ounce filet. The pasta dishes of spaghetti marinara and beef stroganoff were very tasty.

Service was friendly, funny and very helpful. Wine list contained a nice broad selection of US wines as well as local wines.
