This cathedral is ons of the major sights in Vladimir, which automatically implies that it can become rather crowdy during the day with many tourgroups cloaking the interior. Nevertheless, a marvelous jewel not to be missed. Try to visit earlier in the morning or late afternoon, when it gets much less crowded.

The main cathedral of the city which has some wall paintings and frescos of medieval times by a very famous artist Andrey Rublev. It's beautiful from inside and outside! It's also a pleasant walk and a picturesque view to take lots of nice pictures. Loved it!

This typical Russian Orthodox Church in 12th century with a tall belfry which locates on high terrace is "must see" tourist spot in Vladimir. Apart from the external facade, the gold domes and the surrounding environment, the internal part of the Cathedral should not be skipped despite of the payment of entrance fee.

Having visited a lot of early Russian white limestone churches and cathedrals in Suzdal and environs, I can say that the richness of the intérieur with its massive gilded iconostasis and frescos that include work of Andrei Rublev puts this Cathedral near the top.
Much more popular in visitor numbers than the others I have visited , says much for the attraction it must have for Russians , and the number of visitors and relatively dark interior is the only real drawback to what is a must see to those in the area.
