Our group just had a small conference there. It was a great fit for us. It is quaint and rustic (been there over 70 years) and the staff was awesome. They have some young workers and it was great to see them doing such a good job. The biggest surprise was the excellent food. It was way over expectations. I'll eat about anything, but I know when a sophisticated dish is fresh and well prepared. Given the quality of food, the dining room is glass walled and overlooks a cove of the lake. I enjoyed my meals with a view. Watching hummingbirds at the feeders outside the windows made those three hots a day memorable.

Room Tip: We went for a quieter room farther from the lodge.

I booked the Kirkwood Lodge while driving through MO after the well known hotels such as Holiday Inn Were booked. While the beds were pretty hard and the room smelled musty, it was clean and I was able to get a good night's sleep. With a little effort this hotel could much improve their ratings

While checking in, I didn't want to touch anything in the lobby. We went to the room. Beds were old and concave. Carpet was DIRTY. Smell was horrible. We turned around and went back to the receptionist to get our money back and leave. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONE!

So, this was our last minute booking and am glad to say that we are happy customer now..... Rooms are not too big but have what is needed and expected out of $75 per night room...and did i say it included home made breakfast which included fresh fruits, oatmeal, cornflakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, juice, and many more things.....

Room was very clean and its right on the lake.... we took queen doubles.....Air condition was nice and bathroom was very clean.... Washbasin was outside of room which helped to speed up things while getting ready....

Room does not have frills like TV,Microwave,fridge,etc...but we didn't need it.......

It has nice swimming pool right on the lake...so if u take a Dip, you are right on the lake... Lodge also has a game room with billiards table and pingpong table....and this does not have any closing time so you can use it anytime....For people who cant climb stairs....use free Tram to go down to Pool....

Its very near to Bagnell dam and lake of ozarks state park...walmart,Kohls,target are closeby...... Also, Osage beach premium outlets is within 2 miles.....we also went to Andy's custard which is 3 min drive from this lodge......

I would definitely recommend this and will return back whenever i visit the Ozarks again....

Room Tip: Rooms are scattered on the lake..some do not have lake view.....ask for lake viewroom....

Well what do I say, this place was a diamond in the rough! I went down for the pre july holidays as the July 4th was on Wed. this year. It is a very quaint place that has no tvs or telephones, but has everything for an awesome relaxing weekend. They did have a tv in the lobby and pool room if you needed one, but I planned to spend most of my time on the water anyway. I planned on coming down for just a few days then found the pool, lakeside views of Back Water Jacks with million dollar boats pulling in all day long, and I just couldnt leave. I Decided to stay for the week. The Employees were very nice and bent over backwards for me as I needed lots of ice for my many cocktails at the pool. Rooms have many different views as its the last of any real lodges at the lake. They had many single type units/cottages or attached to the main lodge as well. Very reasonable pricing and if you plan on being on the water this is the place for you. They also have a company that rents boats and waverunners, so something always going on in this cove! I will definitely be coming back this summer.

Room Tip: I like what they call deluxe east as they have a front and back door with a patio to sit out and watch all the boats and the beautiful lake at night!
