Nice Park to stroll in - in fact, its probably the one St.Louis puts most money into. Right by the medical school campus. It has lots of bridges and ponds. A smooth and lenghty bike path. You can stroll over to the zoo, which is free. Or have a barbeque in the summer. Nice for jogging. Too many geese, though. They dirty the grass up.
In the winter time they have an ice-skating rink.

“Forest Park is huge... you'd best drive!”
Reviewed 19 April 2004

We had a tour information book that was from 2002 when we were planning our vacation. We were excited to take the Meto Link from downtown near our hotel to Forest Park. It was clean, fairly easy to figure out and we thought we wouldn't have to deal with traffic and parking. What we found out when we arrived at Forest Park was that the public transportation inside the park (which is 50 acres BIGGER than central park!) was lacking and many of the volunteers were uninformed how to use the city bus re cost, timing, etc. Consequently, we ended up walking A LOT! Our family is healthy and it was not impossible, but it was very tiring and we probably lost a couple hours of sightseeing at the art museum simply because we ran out of energy. So keep in mind there is no shuttle or trolley at this time in the park! The next day we went back with our own vehicle and saw more. Traffic, parking and roads were easy to navigate. It seems the metro link was an "experience" but not a necessary convenience. The science museum is a must see!
