Not normally a Super 8 fan, but this was recommended for our 2 night stay in North Yellowstone.

LIKES:
Clean bed
Grocery store across the street
Window AC worked well

DISLIKES:
Just feels cheap (despite high end of season rate)
Dated furnishings, carpeting
Odd smells
Could hear every footstep of people upstairs

SUMMARY:
This gets 3 1/2 because of its proximity to Yellowstone. Anywhere else and it would be just a 3.

Room tip: Get a room on the top floor to avoid hearing the footsteps of people above you.

Third time staying in Gardiner, our earlier hotels were booked out so we sort of settled for here.. turns out it was a great choice.
This place has all you need, large comfy rooms complete with microwave and fridge so some degree of independence is possible.
The breakfast is better than most super 8’s and includes some protein, yogurt and omelettes.
We mentioned there were smokers at the door we need to use to get in and out & they set up a seperate smokers area away from the doors which was amazing service. I hope the smoking area stays for those who stay here after us.

We had pretty much given up on Super 8 motels because of the declining standards of cleanliness and especially maintenance, but this one is a welcome exception. After reading reviews here on Trip Advisor that indicated this might be fine, we took a chance on this property for a 5-day visit to Yellowstone and are glad we did. It is no luxury hotel but if you're spending all day visiting sites in Yellowstone and simply looking for a quiet clean and comfortable place to bathe, recuperate and sleep, this works well. The breakfast got a little samey after five days and we visited the well-stocked local grocery across the street to spruce up the offerings as well as to pick up picnic supplies for each day's drive into Yellowstone.

The staff is accommodating and friendly. We didn't use the pool, but it looked very clean and inviting...we just didn't have the time or energy once we got back from the park, often after dark.

Room tip: Parking for the second building is limited and the pool is in the building with the office.

Hotel was clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was the basic continental offering, the items were fresh. Excellent location for access to Yellowstone. The staff was friendly and was able to accommodate us on the ground floor.

Breakfast was to heat up precooked scrambled eggs, or cereal and coffee. To their credit room clean and quiet, beds comfortable, and a good location. It is a real bummer though, how expensive a room is.

Room tip: Rooms on back of hotel are quieter.
