Excellent value in this historic hotel in the charming town of Kalispell

Excellent value in this historic hotel in the charming town of Kalispell
Love the Grand Hotel Kalispell! It is right on the main street of the cute town of Kalispell, and the huge lobby and breakfast area look exactly like they would have in 1912, when in fact the hotel opened. Can't compliment the super friendly, helpful staff enough! And we enjoyed the popcorn and cookie snacks they put out each afternoon.
Breakfast was great - so nice that it wasn't the usual continental breakfast served at so many other hotels - the beautiful buffet featured homemade dishes such as quiches and fresh breads, which we loved.
Our room was very big, nicely appointed, quiet, with a roomy bathroom and sitting area. We just loved the Grand Hotel Kalispell and hope to return one day.
It was a great location from which to explore not only Kalispell, but Glacier National Park, about minutes away, the cute town of Whitefish, 20 minutes away (the Tuesday evening Farmer's Market is a load of fun!) and area attractions such as the wonderful Brash Rodeo in Columbia Falls, 30 minutes away, and local attractions such as the amazing Conrad Mansion. That was really incredible. The degree of curation and detail and the sheer number of artifacts is beyond belief. A must do!
And Kalispell has just about every possible shopping option known to mankind ! We enjoyed spending time at Cabela's and Lowe's and Walmart!

Expensive compared to other hotels in the area. Nice decor in lobby area annd hallways. staff are helpful and congenial. We were disappointed with the room and lack of good restaurants within walking distance. A few little changes to the room decor and amenities and this would get a 5 rating

We stayed at the Grand for 5 days with several friends to attend a wedding. It is a beautiful historic hotel right in the heart of downtown. It is not a new hotel. The lobby and breakfast room have been restored to the grandeur and charm of 100 years ago. It is being run more like a B&B.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the tasty breakfasts that we shared with friends in the lovely lobby. There were no youth soccer teams in sight. We plan to stay here again when we are in town.

Room tip: They have free off street parking in the back.

Beautiful old historic hotel - the lobby is stunning and the staff are so awesome! Breakfast was good and the afternoon/evening cookies and popcorn are a fun treat. The rooms….well ours was fine. Listen it’s an old building and things can be quirky. It was clean but dated and we had views of walls out both windows.
For the rate we paid I was disappointed. I booked directly with the hotel - a few days ahead I was checking reviews on TripAdvisor and a MUCH cheaper rate popped up through Booking.com
So I went to the website to see if there was a lower rate - nope. So I emailed - no response. So I called and they adjusted my rate — but even at that adjusted rate I felt it was too much for the room we had. And having that hassle vs just getting a better rate directly left a bad taste in my mouth. And I really wonder if they would have put us in a nicer room had I not haggled about the rate - even though the reservation was for the exact same
Classification of room.

What a great gem in the downtown area of Kalispell.
We loved the convenience of shops, restaurants and a short drive to GNP.
The lobby was inviting with large windows looking out to streets and comfortable dining.
Baked cookies , popcorn and coffee were always available for snacking.
The continental breakfast was delicious and perfect way to start the day.
Rooms were adequately supplied, comfortable and very clean!
Staff was friendly and helpful from providing information and assisting with any requests.

Room tip: Be advised it is on main street of town so you may experience some street noise.

Bed was comfy. Room was small but had everything we needed. Location was great, walk to many stores, restaurants and bars. Breakfast in morning was homemade and delicious. Service was great! It’s an old hotel that has been remodelled nicely
