We were greeted by a very friendly lady who genuinely appeared to like her job. She put us on the newly renovated 4th floor with brand new, pillow top beds. The bed was very comfortable! Stepping out of the elevator, it had the smell of new paint and carpet which is infinitely better than the stale odor in some hotels.
The bedding was nice, the furniture without scuffs, and the room had some nice touches such as the computer desk lamp with three settings.
The one drawback is that the air conditioner blew directly onto the person sitting at the computer desk. We needed the air conditioner on because it was in the 90s outside, but it was uncomfortable to sit at the desk. We ended up opening a suitcase against the air condition to divert the air away from the desk. It wasn't ideal, but clearly the person who designed the room missed that detail.
Breakfast was the typical Holiday Inn breakfast with a lot of choices and decent enough hot items such as biscuits and gravy, omelets and sausage. They had fresh apples and bananas as well.
Shout out to the front desk lady who gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner at Black Cow Fat Pig, and we got a discount on our meal for telling them that the Holiday Inn recommended them.More
