“Good value for the weary traveler”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 February 2012

We make a trip through here on an annual basis. Ogallala is a stop on our journey. This facility is a little older than others at the interstate, but we've always been very pleased with the high quality and cleanliness of the rooms. Staff have always been very friendly to the weary traveler, with quick check-in and willingness to meet any of our individual needs.
Typical make-your-own breakfast area, which is just fine with us. Large parking area out back, and the rooms in the back on the first floor have access to the parking lot. Great for quick unload/load.

We have stayed here while traveling through and each time has been a great stay. The front desk are almost always helpful and courteous. The rooms are super clean and nicely appointed. We always sleep well even though the highway side has highway noise. Breakfast is so-so, and be careful of the slippery back entrance. It always seem like they just had an ice storm---that walkway is slick!

The building was in great shape, clean, and a special thanks to Bonnie for making sure our breakfast was as best it could be. She made me feel at home - what more could you ask for when staying at a home away from home!?

We try to stay at HI Expresses whenever we can when we travel. Stayed here on 12/26/11 on our way out west. We found this HI Express to be clean and comfortable, with a pleasant, attentive staff. Check in was a breeze, and we especially liked that the rooms on the first floor had an outside entrance, making unloading much easier! Decent breakfast (I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and theirs was yummy!). Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor in the back make unloading a breeze!

We originally planned on stopping in Kearney on our way home from Christmas but because of good roads we decided to move on a bit. I went on my phone and canceled our original reservation but it wouldn't let me book a hotel on points so I called the main reservation desk. Being that we were in the midde of Nebraska my Verizon phone didn't have a clear signal so we just took the room they gave us and knowing the hotel looked wide open and it seemed we could move into a King rooom upon arrival around 6. To our suprise the desk said since we were staying on points we could not change rooms. If I would have been able to book a room on on the road like I can now and a King is clearly available for the same 15,000 points. Shame on you for being so lazy not to change our room!!! If it had been before 6 I could have canceled the reservation in the lobby and rebooked the room we wanted. We have stayed here once before, rooms are nice, like the bathroom sink outside of the restroom so it's easy for two to get ready at the same time, breakfast is the usual fare for a HI Express, Just disappointed they refused to move us to a room that would have been available to us had I had FULL internet access on the road.

Room Tip: Backside of the hotel on the main level has a door in the rear of the room to unload as well as a do...

My family and I stayed one night as we planned. It was an okay stay. We were on our way to Denver Co and had to stay one night in Ogallala. We stayed at the HolidayInn Express because it was the newest one in Ogallala. Let's just say that I could and would never stay in Ogallala. The rooms were alright. We got a Jaccuzi suite. It had one king sized bed and one sleeper sofa. The thing that surprised me was that the 'Jaccuzi' was in the most peculiar place. It is outside the bathroom and in theopenspace. It had a view of the tv and outside to the interstate. So odd. The beds were hard and I could hardly get any sleep because of the noise outside. When we woke up we went downstairs to have the free breakfast offered. It was actually pretty decent. They served a buffet with pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, cinnabuns, muffins, bagels, and juices and milk beverages.
Overall it was an alright stay for 1 night.
