Tranquil grounds to take a walk around on. plus a old historic building to see and tour. The grounds next to the capital are great for walking around as well. You can not take dogs on the capital building land .

The historic Capitol Building in Carson City is Must see. Enjoy the old west in A small town. If you look on the east side of the big trees near the msin enterance you might possibly see the claw marks from the bear that took up a short term residence. Grand trees attract deer, owls, golden eagles, school kids, walkers and government officials. The grounds of the Capitol Campus (Capitol, Supreme Court, Legislture and the State Library and Archives) are all located within one large city block. In the Capitol Building check out the murals along the ceiling depicting the minerials, counties and early commerce of the State. Upstairs visit the free museum. The statue of Sarah Winnemucca is a duplicate of another on Washington DC. The grounds feature several memorials including the Fallen Officers, the Veterans Memorial Wall.

We went walking downtown and came across the state capital building which was very beautiful. The kids enjoyed walking around and running around their big Courtyard which was shaded by trees. My only regret was that we didn't get to stay long and explore some more.

We came on a late Saturday afternoon, it was not too busy. Found parking along Carson Street, happy to not have to worry about a parking meter. I came with my family, we walked around the buildings, we we're not able to take a tour as they are closed on weekends. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, loved it!
